How much BETTER would this have been?

He spent the whole movie Supermanning his way through. He was way stronger than any of the villains and was tossing them around like rag dolls. Even "Bennet" was not really as strong as him.

A WAY WAY WAY cooler idea is to have the main villain be LOU FERRIGNO, someone EVEN BIGGER and EVEN STRONGER than Arnold! After a whole movie of tossing people around almost effortlessly he should have had to face Ferrigno and this time he is the underdog and having to struggle against someone bigger and stronger than him. That would have been AWESOME. Being arguably the 2 most famous bodybuilders of this era I find it off that they never were in a movie together?

WRONG!

I can't think of anything that would make Commando better than it is, the film is first class entertainment from start to finish. Well actually I can think of a couple of things that would make it even better but they wouldn't be legal.

reply

Nobody likes my idea of Lou Ferrigno being a villain he has to fight? When I was a child and teen I could not figure out why Arnold and Ferrigno were never in a movie together (other than pumping iron).

reply

The Incredible Hulk was set in another movie universe.

reply

There is nothing to suggest that commando is not set in the Hulk's universe

reply

Your alleged idea is stupid. Lou can neither act nor speak, and he never beat Arnie in the Mr. Olympia pose-off.

So, you should piss off.

John Matrix killing animals? Matrix's daughter being raped so as to make him angry enough to get bloodier revenge?

reply

Agree...well Bennett did get shocked during the fight and it seemed to make him stronger after that.

reply

Electricity makes one stronger. Look at the Frankenstein Monster. Even King Kong got stronger with electricity in the original King Kong vs Godzilla in the 60s. It even brought Jason Voorhees back to life. So its understandable that it made Bennett stronger

You know what I don't think about when watching Commando? That it needs to be better.

reply

^ The correct answer.

reply

Agree. I watched the movie like 30 years ago and wondered: why did they cast that out-of-shape piece of blubber as the main antagonist? As you say: Lou Ferrigno would have been the perfect choice.

reply

John matrix was basically a video game character playing on Rookie, but that's part of what makes this movie fucking awesome!

reply

Ferrigno is dumb and can't act. Maybe have Ferrigno as "silent" main the heavy for Bennet who either pops up when Arnie is walking away thinking he's beat the game. With the Hulk being the end of game boss after Bennet is dead.

Or right before Bennet for a mirror match with two immovable objects colliding. Then have a different kind of action scene with Bennet where he's sneaky, and tries to outsmart Arnie rather than out power him.

i agrees with your sentiments.

arnie have no competition in movie excepts man dressed as lesbian.

this film seconds rate rambo film!!!!
