The choking scene in the car

Was pure comedy. So fake and dumb.

right, they should not have had all that light come out of nowhere.......that was stupid

If the OP meant it was badly acted, then I couldn't disagree more. Alexandra Paul didn't get to shine much in the movie but she did a particularly great job in this scene. It's very intense.

Now if the OP meant it was simply, well, unintentionally funny overall... I strongly disagree as well. Fake? Nah. This is a well-executed and haunting scene.

I agree with you Drac. I didn't see anything funny looking about that. The lights in the car were suppose to come on. It was Christine venting her fury.
I also thought that it really did look as though she was choking.

I liked that movie. The book was better though.

I much prefer the movie to the book. A car that's possessed by the ghost of its former owner isn't anywhere near as interesting as a car that's somehow a sentient being. If King had left out the ghosts haunting the car, like John Carpenter did, it would have been an awesome book.

I'm reading the book now and think it's awfully good, but I still like how the film has a self-possessed Christine and not the ghost of the deceased owner possessing it.

It didn't look realistic to me either. No change of color in her face either.

reply

It's like it was a movie or something.
