I don't blame you there. This film had many scary moments that stay with you.

Oh yes. I recall MANY a sleepless night laying in my little bed, in my little room, facing my single window. Seeing ol' Ralphie boy floating in behind my closed eyelids... ::::shudders:::: 😱😱😱😱

It was a nice directed shot. The music really enhances it by sounding like blood pumping and reaching a climax when he bites into his brother. The dog rolling up was mystical and very creepy

The whole movie is unbelievably good.
The absolute best made for TV Stephen King adaptation ever!!
The scariest made for TV movie ever!!
And the best vampire movie ever (TV or theatrical)!!

These are just my opinions of course. But damn, it's all true LOL!!!!

reply

I agree. I never was scared by the other movies except pet semetary, the shinning and salems lot. They are true kings of the genre

reply

agreed. this tv movie is scary as hell

reply

From the "King" of the genre!! 😊

This was a good film and I liked it to death, but for me the best SK adaptation was the 1994 ABC mini-series, The Stand.

Nothing else SK holds a candle to that.

reply

Well... At least you didn't say the Salem's Lot remake or The Shining remake. So, I can accept your opinion lol. πŸ˜‰

I consider Horror of Dracula to be the best vampire film of all time, but β€˜Salem’s Lot is also a great movie. Tons of atmosphere and plenty of scares.

Loved the book. When the movie came out on tv I was extremely excited to see it. I was and still am amazed at how scary it is. Ralfie at the window is indeed a frightening scene.
I have seen this many times and it still gives me the shivers.

On a side note..... about the window/windows...
While watching this last Halloween, I noticed something for the first time. Many of the bedrooms and the hospital had the same type of windows. I call them the peter pan windows because they remind me of the kind that Peter Pan entered through when he paid Wendy a visit.
Just an observation.😊
