Cringe-inducing sexism

Countless examples exist. I'm sure you have a favorite. One of mine: After Yeoman Rand brings Kirk his meal in "The Corbomite Maneuver" Kirk vows to give the person at headquarters who assigned him a female yeoman hell to which McCoy slimily replies "What's the matter Jim? Don't you trust yourself?"

Yuck.

reply

This might be hard to believe but there was a time when not everything was considered a thought crime and people could just converse. Sometimes friendships were even born by people insulting each other.

And no one died.

I know, it's amazing.

Please remember you are talking about a television show made during the sixties. The Women Liberation Movement and resulting protests against sexism would not start until the seventies.

reply

Here in the actual world, more people are held in some form of slavery than any other time in recorded history. If sexism in a 50 year old TV show is even one of your minor concerns then you might want to rethink your values.

reply

... and think of all the starving children too.

More important issues are endless. Hopefully, you weren't being sarcastic. If so, reevaluation may help.

reply

Yeah. Fully sarcastic. Bring on the "reevaluation"

The classic example of today’s SJW culture who’s incapable of seeing things through the eyes of someone at the time something was done.

They’re brainwashed lemmings incapable of critical thinking who live to be offended. What a sad miserable life.

reply

How is that 'yuck'?

reply

You mean.... Kirk has a penis?
You might want to recall his sharp response to McCoy, too.
Or, just go cringe, ya pussy.
