Best band ever!

Where would I be without my Pearl Jam...no one knows...

reply

No PJ fans here?

reply

They're a 7/10.

reply

That hurts bruh.

reply

BETTER THAN MY 2/10...I VERY MUCH DISLIKE THE BUTTROCKERS.

reply

Come on Ski, that really hurts. Who is your favorite band from the 90's?

reply

What's the name of that shitty pseudo metal band that you like??

reply

7/10 isn't bad.

reply

8.5/10 would be more realistic though....they are the only grunge band to consistently put out music.

reply

Not a fan. I've had to listen to them for 30 years. I didn't care for it then and still don't. They're not bad, just way overplayed.

reply

30 years? Do you live in Seattle?

reply

Nope. Their first album hit our radios around '92/'93. It's been on repeat ever since.

reply

I dont hear PJ on the radio anymore. Your DJ must be a huge PJ fan.

reply

PJ, Metallica, Nirvana, and whatever popular cover came out recently. It's cool for a decade but man are they beating this into the ground.

reply

From all the songs I have heard from them I like only the ''rear view mirror'' and that is all

reply

How about Dirty Frank?

reply

It has hip hop characteristics, not my thing

reply

Oh ok, it sounds like funk music to me. How about Black?

reply

OK that's a good song, I like Pearl Jam they are not unpleasant to me, I'm in to alternative rock and the like that were mainstream at 90s, but It's a kind of music that needs the right time and the right place to be appreciated, to be in the mood, perhaps a little drunk or stoned or both

reply

I was late to the Pearl Jam train, but really appreciate them now.

8/10

reply

I am glad you finally found them. This is one of my favorite discs. Not sure if you have it or not.

Ten is amazing. That will hold up as one of many GOAT albums from the 1990s. A defining album of the era, but not THE defining Grunge album, or band, if you know what I mean.

reply

Ten is effing amazing. There wasn't one bad or filler song on that album. Who do you think is the defining grunge band or album of the 90's? For me its equally split between PJ and Nirvana. Both of their debut albums were amazing.

reply

Dirt by Alice in Chains. I think when people lament that grunge was so depressing, they are referring to this album. It's got everything to define grunge, especially the lyrical substance, you know, like the whole thing is basically what it's like to be a rock star heroin junkie.

Nevermind was the album to move an entire culture, it was the most recent Beatles moment, there hasn't been one since. However, lyrically, it's not what the other bands were crushing it with, even by Kurt Cobain's admission, he said some of the songs he was just screaming jibberish.

reply

I think you are right. It is a fantastic album. I hadn't listened to it in a while and it brings back great emotions.

Nirvana was lightning in a bottle and who knows what their 3rd album would have sounded like. Music went stale in the late 2000's. There hasn't been anything musically new since nu metal phased out.

reply

Only in YOUR opinion.

reply

not "only". do you speak for the rest of the world?

reply

Obviously. Its so weird that everyone is finally responding to a post I made 6 years ago.

Who is the best band from the 90's?

reply

3EB is my favorite band that came out of the 90's. But since only two of their albums were released in that decade, may not qualify.

reply

[deleted]

Who else's opinion would they be stating?

reply

I don't know about ever, but I definitely would say they're my favorite band from that era...

reply

They are my favorite band too. I used to listen to PJ and Nirvana constantly. I wish it was possible to time travel because I would go back to 1992 and do it all again.

reply

You’re a good dude Bubba.

reply

Thanks Broseph.
