Clarence Thomas: Supreme Court Nomination Hearings

And yet again, history repeats itself. You can thank the Democrats for this new travesty upon America.

reply

What are you babbling on about now? The fact the stooge and sexual harasser known as Clarence Thomas got confirmed?

Yeah blame Democrats for that when he was foisted on America by a Republican president and voted on by Republican senators. You're clueless as usual.

reply

Democrats again are making a mockery of our political system. Bravo.

reply

Trump is a Democrat AGAIN? Who knew?

reply

So your saying that only Democrats are like this? self pwnage lolz

reply

Thuglicans held up a court nomination in 2016 for NOTHING

reply

Except....I was a Republican until August of 2016 and then went Independent, you obtuse buffoon.

reply

No you weren't. You were uni-party. Obama continued Bush's legacy of wars and corporate welfare.

reply

i was there. Republican from 1983 until 2016.

Now hush....grown ups are talking.

reply

Then tell me how you were against Obama... without using the n word.

reply

I felt he was well-spoken but ultimately wrote a LOT of checks he could not cash. And I feel he either on his own or at the manipulation of his staff got dragged into every racial issue that came up even when it was not something a President should be involved with.

I was not a fan of his like I was of Reagan or George HW, but he was muc better than what we have now.

reply

How can I miss him?

We have Nixon 2.0 in the White House now!

reply

He's worse than Nixon and we're worse off now because the republican officials are far more corrupt now than ever before.

Trump is Nixon if he was able to get away with it.

reply

Everything Obama did wrong regarding the wars was giving in to the right wing. He was one of the few voices against the war in Iraq in 2004 while Trump was all "uhh, I guess so" when asked if we should be there. After Obama won the election, Bush issued a timetable for withdrawal to steal credit for ending the war. Obama followed that timetable, and what did Fox News do? They repeatedly slammed him as a Muslim sympathizer who was empowering the radicals. So Obama droned the shit out of the Middle East. Meanwhile, for those efforts, Trump was trying to pin him as not just a Muslim sympathizer, but one who wasn't born in this country.

Everything Obama did wrong regarding healthcare was also giving in to the right wing. The ACA was developed in a right-wing think tank in the late 80s. Republicans took it off the shelf in the mid 90s to counter the First Lady's hypothetical Hillarycare. Then it went on to be instituted by Mitt Romney in Massachusetts. Republicans named it Obamacare in an attempt to remove their name from it and claim it was some sort of form of Socialism.

reply

The GOP are absolutely the party of dirty tricks and ZERO standards.

reply

Trump has been a supporter of war and corporate welfare. He's also given away billions to farmers over his tariffs, and his administration's fiscal narrative is as though we are in a recession.

reply

Obama took ownership of GM and doubled the national debt. You were saying?

Remember, you're ignorant of economics. So you should actually pay attention to those that aren't. Compound Annual Growth (CAGR) makes using absolute numbers like you're doing meaningless.

reply

I might not have a formal education in economics but I do have common sense. The deficit was 9 when he started and 18 when he left. Whether it grew slower is irrelevant.

reply

It's not even just your ignorance of economics but your failure at basic math. When a third of that figure is attributable to CAGR it demonstrates why economists recognize that using absolute numbers is deeply misleading.

"Whether it grew slower is irrelevant."

Then you clearly lack common sense too.

reply

I just hope the media doesn't forget to use the CAGR 1/3 Theory when Trump doubles the national debt.

reply

It's not a theory, it's fact. Just because you don't understand compound annual growth doesn't make it disappear.

But your ignorance of math does mean if Trump doubles the debt in four years you'd be sitting there claiming it's no worse than what Obama did in eight. Because in your world the speed at which debt grows is irrelevant.

And I'd LMAO at just how dumb you sound.

reply

I just hope I remember this when Trump leaves office and the national debt is 36T. I will say (Thurston Howell, III voice) "Economists recognize that using absolute numbers is deeply misleading and a third of that figure is attributable to CAGR."

reply

It's not always going to be a third. That would entirely depend on the other totals and the time accumulated, that's the bit you laughably insist is irrelevant.

That would require you to be able to do the math to figure out what economists would recognize. Too bad you're useless in that regard.

reply

You said it was a third and your the expert. I was just going by what you said. Lets just hope that mainstream America understands CAGR otherwise they will think that the debt is higher than it actually is.

reply

Thomas votes the party line. He looks at the other conservatives, they nod and tell him how to vote, and that's what he does. I'm surprised he manages to stay awake while court is in session, I doubt he's even paying attention.

reply

At least he is not as bad as RBG, she has no idea whats going on.

reply

No CT doesn't know what's going on. Ginsberg is at least working hard.

reply

Maybe CT and RBG are the same person? RBGCT. RiBiGuCaT. Pronounced...Ribi-goo-cat.

Yes, thank Democrats for saving the country from 40 years of an abusive, lying, drunk, entitled rich rapist being on the Supreme Court.

Great job Diane Feinstein. Good work Sheldon Whitehouse. Thanks Kamala Harris.

On the other hand ... the Republicans Mitch McConnell, Orrin Hatch, Lindsay Graham and others are out and out corrupt.
