The best singer of all time.

Nothing compares 2 her.

reply

Only someone who has never heard any of the hundreds of thousands of recordings made by thousands of other singers over the past century could possibly make such an idiotic statement.

reply

You honestly think this is serious? It's just a play on her most famous song.

reply

Not my all time favorite singer, but Sinead was a rare talent regardless. My favorite Sinead O'Connor album is her Irish folk album titled Sean Nas Nua. Check it out.

It's not really fair that her fame was mostly from a Prince cover song, that kind of belittles her talent to the equivalent of Bananarama, who were famous for the same reason (I'm Your Venus). But really, she's a fantastic singer who chose to throw her career and life away.

reply

Prince co-opted another good band, The Bangles. Prince was an epic artist. But he sidelined several other great rock artists.

reply

I used to like The Bangles. Susanna Hoffs (lead singer) was hot.

reply

Prince wrote "Manic Monday". That was The Bangles' big hit comparable to "Nothing Compares".

But when the Bangles were an indie rock band, before they met Prince, they did better work.

reply

I'd say "Eternal Flame"is The Bangles' big hit, which they wrote themselves (BUT it was written after they got famous thanks to "Manic Monday").

reply

Okay. I forgot about that awful dirge. Prince killed their alternative rock sound.

reply

I'd go with Tina Turner. She's simply the best.

reply

At least someone picked up on my joke.

reply

Carly Simon because nobody does it better.

reply

I bet you thought this thread was about her.

reply

Very nicely done.

reply

No, Babs because of the way she was.

reply

Why not recreate this hijacked part of the thread in GD?

reply

I don't like remakes.
