I’ve just seen the news that Irrfan Khan has passed away of a colon infection aged just 53... this is terribly shocking and sad.

A colon infection? Can't say I've heard of someone dying from that before.

Sad news. RIP.

I do remember when he announced that the condition he had was rare but I had no idea it was this serious. Yes, it sounds like an unusual and painful way to go... truly tragic, my heart goes out to his family. He was a good and prolific actor. I particularly liked him in Life of Pi and The Namesake.

I highly recommend seeing Blackmail, a 2018 Indian Hindi-language black comedy film. I saw it with English subtitles and Irrfan Khan is the protagonist. There are lots of twists and turns, a great score, and a nice ending.

Now when anyone dies everyone just assumes it was something to do with corona.. even if its not theres the notion it can't have helped (with potential infection in hospital, overloaded workforce etc)

I saw that as well, and was completely shocked. Very sad to hear. We just never know when our time is up.

Yes.He was great in The Lunchbox, which is a lovely film.

Very sad news. He was great in everything, but I was blown away by his role in In Treatment. Also great in Lunchbox, Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi, Puzzle. RIP.

Irrfan Khan Death: Actor Irrfan Khan, who was admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital with a colon infection, has died. The Piku star battled a tumor for several months and returned to Mumbai some months ago after being treated in London. Irrfan Khan is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons. Yesterday, his spokesperson confirmed that he had been taken to the intensive care unit and later, dismissed rumors that Irrfan Khan had died.

I'm surprised he didn't die from CCP virus (Sars2) just seeing all those debilitating issues he's been suffering through but from a tumor. They couldn't remove the tumor? Where was the tumor located? If the tumor was too large to remove then I guess I can see why but if it were small...
