Biggest douchebag in WWE history?

The nerve of this guy. He always has something negative to say about everyone. He even went after Owen's widow, Martha! Bret has a massive ego.

reply

I was listening to some random shoot interview and some other wrestler was talking about the first time he went to Brett's house... He said every room was like a shrine to himself and his career.

reply

Would not surprise me in the least!

reply

I think he's very bitter. I have no idea what he was like before misfortune befell him, but I think the combination of Davey Boy's and Owen's deaths, the Screwjob, his injuries in WCW, and subsequent stroke have just left him as a broken man. He's had a really hard go of it. If I were in his shoes, I can't say I wouldn't also have a bad attitude about it all.

100%

reply

I think it’s you

reply

Bret Hart, is that you?

reply

Haha well said

reply

Nah, that's Shawn Michaels.

reply

I can definitely see that. It was rumored him and Vince had a homosexual relationship in the 90s. Makes sense because Shawn got away with alot and he ruined some careers.

reply

When it comes to WWE the word douchebag is synonymous with Shawn Michaels so...

reply

I can definitely see that. It was rumored him and Vince had a homosexual relationship in the 90s. Makes sense because Shawn got away with alot and he ruined some careers.

reply

Really? I did not hear about that one.

But I wouldn't be surprised if it was just business though. When Vince decides that a guy will be the face of his organization, he goes absolutely all-in. I think he saw that in Shawn Michaels and he also found a great partner in crime... someone who doesn't give a crap about ethics.

reply

Bret turned bad later in his career with the way "The Clique" destroyed the lockerroom. And Vince did everything to cater to them. Someone already summed it up with why he's so broken now and its sad.

Shawn Michaels would definitely be up there as biggest dbag but he's been catered to and able to get his life on track. He never had to suffer the tragedies or mistreatment that Bret had to endure. The Hart family did so much for the business.

Also, Ric Flair is one of the biggest dbags I've ever heard speak.

I don't get the big fuss about Ric Flair. He does seem annoying and obnoxious.

reply

Definitely annoying and obnoxious. Massive ego. Like a couple years ago I remember him bragging in some documentary or interview that he would drink like 30 beers and drive home. As if that was something to admire.

reply

And those annoying "Woo" chants. Ugh...

He used to be my favourite wrestler for the longest till I wrote him a touching personal letter and he never responded.

Then he became so weak in wcw and he never recovered as a wrestler and in his personal life.

How could he have the moral ground when he cheated on his wife of multiple kids always. Tag-teaming Sunny with Sean Michaels and whoever he could get his hands on. As a wrestler he also wasnt the greatest. Hogan once said he would never wrestle with him because he wasnt on his level. 🤣. I think he had weak mic skills and his heavyweight eras were also weak.

reply

Bret was my favorite wrestler when I was little too. It was fun watching how technically good he was in the ring. I was worried when I saw his name on this message board that he died, haha.

Anyways, Hogan obviously had much more charisma than Bret, but Bret could put on a wrestling match a million times better than Hogan, even on his worst day. I would have LOVED to see Hogan vs. Hart back in the day, but Hogan refused to lose to Bret. I do think Bret improved on the mic when he did his heel turn back in ‘97 or so, and some of those promos were really good!

All of these wrestlers are pretty messed up and have a lot of flaws. Pretty much all of them, especially from the 80’s and 90’s. Hart needs to chill out with talking shit on so many people, but that’s how wrestlers stay in the lime light after their careers are over, providing good sound bites on radio shows. He had an amazing career though, and he doesn’t have anything to be ashamed of in my opinion.

reply

Yes, I've noticed many wrestlers have deep personal issues.

reply

yea me too! I thought they were reporting he had died. Did you see some fan attacking him on the Hall of Fame? and of course he couldnt kick his ass cause it's fake wrestling. He needed others to interviened and he hid away like a coward.

He was also my favorite when I was little but I think a good part had to do with one greatest era leaving and me getting into it late. Like I for example, I loved The Ultimate Warrior over anyone else but by the time I go he was gone. So was Jake The Snake, the list goes on. They were too old and their time had passed. I got very lucky to luck into the NWO era in WCW which to me is the greatest era of all and then ECW's Greatest era but They just didnt put ECW as much. Which I was hoping they did. I cringe when I see today's wrestling and old ECW. It was fun seeing cast off of both wrestlings to go there. Everyone kicked ass and the extremity was just another level. Of course my favorite Wrestler of all time was RVD. I really hate how all these over performers went to WWE and sucked when they were so fucking awesome in ECW. Tazz, Dreamer, wtf? These guys could kick anybody's ass but became like jobbers and lame in WWE.

Maybe Brett Didnt have anything to be ashamed of but I would've. Back in the day these wrestlers had a special mystic and little kids looked up to them. For them to be liars, 'roiders, and not give a single crap about anyone is shameful to me. Ego driven, phoney, pathetic, and weak. CM Punk would go around saying with the most serious face he was the greatest in the world then got his ass kicked in the UFC by bums. The wrestling world lies about everything and anything to all there fans straight to their face with no shame. and fans continue scoop up this shameless, fake, and juiced up sport. Any redeeming quality is lost in this toxic, cheap, and fake world.

reply

I don’t disagree with a lot of what you said, but the fan that attacked Bret Hart surprised him in the middle of a speech, and at this point Bret has has had and recovered from a stroke and all other kinds of health issues.

Bret grew up in Stu Harts dungeon. The whole Hart family and people like Chris Jericho and others who trained there could legitimately kick people’s asses. If you ever watch the documentary “Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows” (which is a really good behind the scenes documentary, though VERY biased to Hart’s side of the story)...the training the Hart family went through was legit, and they could really fight and wrestle.

I bet if Bret saw that fan coming he would have been able to lock him up in a hold fairly quickly, even now being an old man with health issues.

All of his faults...I won’t take away the fact that the dude was able to fight, and in real fights would have been able to beat the shit out of most of the wrestlers he went up against in the world of fake wrestling. Also in the documentary, there is a scene in the locker room right after the Montreal Screw Job, where Shawn Michaels blatantly lies to Bret about knowing anything about what just happened, because he was scared to get the hell beat out of him. Haha.

reply

yea a skinny wimp fan and who cares if he attacked him out of nowhere. They're supposed to be superstars and see who's coming in on them and he acted like a scared pussy when he was getting his ass kicked. I saw the video. Instead of kicking his ass like they do in fake wrestling. Health issues dont make him a wimp. The fan wasnt a big juice head like he was.

I saw that documentary and I used to think the world of it and him. Till I figured it was just one big fat lie. Almost like another promotion like the WWF. Like he gived a shit about that woman and all her sacrifices or anything but himself.

The Hart's family training might be legit but it's still fake wrestling. Think of it, if you were really any good why wouldnt you just fight a couple of times a year and make millions than spend the whole year pretending day in and day out just for a couple?

Both him and Shawn Michaels deserve each other. They were both scummy lying people who did basically the same shit with different bodies and both hated each other so much they probably wanted to fuck each other out of envy.

reply

I think he is just a broken down and bitter old man, who doesn't understand why he doesn't have a better legacy than he does, or why he isn't still celebrated today like some of his peers are. I.E. Stone Cold, The Undertaker and especially Shawn Michaels.

Jim Cornette once said that Bret's biggest flaw was he took himself and the business too serious. While it was great that he respected the business and its history, but at some points he seemed to forget that it wasn't like other sports. You need to put other people over sometimes. Or like after Montreal he did interviews and talked about how he didn't really lose the belt. But he didn't mention that he never really won the belt either. It's pro wrestling. You had the belt because someone gave it to you.

reply

hahaha. Never thought of it like that. That person being Vince McMahon who was the one who screwed him over. But screwing him over was also giving him a prestigious job, giving him millions of dollars, and making him famous. When he even went to WCW I dont remember him being a World Champion. I remember him submitting something he never did in the WWF and joining the NWO not them joining him like The Canadians.

I also always thought of him as broken down and bitter. Even when he was a young wrestler. I think it had to do with him always feeling he deserved more and thinking he was actually elite when he was just a fake wrestler who got in because of his famous family and got many opportunities others deserved but didnt get. Sure, lets say we all agree with him in everything. It's still a fake wrestling business, your still taking steroids, your still lying to millions of people, you've never really accomplished anything, it's all fake anyway.
