What was he besides a sausage maker?

A country singer or an actor?

reply

I know him as Willard Whyte (the alliterate name obviously a nod to Howard Hughes) from Diamonds Are Forever. I was never into country music so I don't know him from that world.

Well, this is better than one of Hownos' happy birthday threads, right?

This is true 🤣

reply

He murdered the OG James Dean

reply

Same as NYCTC7, to me he was Willard Whyte from Diamonds Are Forever, and I am also not a country music fan, so I didn't know him from that era either.

reply

Well being in a Bond flick gives him some good street cred at least.

Any reason he can't be both?

The thing I remember most about Jimmy Dean, aside from the song, "Big Bad John," was his variety show on ABC in the mid sixties.

A regular feature every week was Jimmy talking with an anthropomorphic dog named Rowlf, who was operated and voiced by Jim Henson. This was probably many peoples' introduction to The Muppets.

Aha! Some background. Interesting. And very cornball.🤣
