I was watching something last week (made in the 80s I think) and there was this guy in it who I thought looked like the spitting image of Willem Dafoe.
So much so that I was thinking that if my Steve Martin / Harrison Ford movie didn't picked up by them, Willem Dafoe and this other guy could perhaps play the parts instead.
Who was this other actor?

I'm sure it may work with Dafoe and this other guy - if only we could work out who he was... Perhaps the budget would be reduced but hey, it's not a big expensive production anyway, that's one of the charming elements to it.

I looked up Dafoe look a-likes and he came up but it wasn't him. Looked through his film list as well just to be sure but nothing there I'd watched...
How come you didn't google the guy at the time or even know what you were watching?

I just turned to Mrs FootOfDavros and said - That guy looks just like Willem Dafoe. She agreed and we just kept watching. I don't think he was a major character, just in a scene or two maybe.
But it was a week or so later I saw Willem Dafoe on here, and thought - hang on, who was that guy who looked like Willem Dafoe. And hence my current predicament...

shareYour mystery actor has got to be Richard Lynch. First time I saw Lynch on screen I immediately looked him up expecting to find out he is Dafoe's uncle or something, but not so. They are related in face only. Unfortunately Lynch passed away in 2012 so is unable to star in your movie.

Yeah, I suggested Brian Thompson in the wrong thread, but if you wanted to change your story idea from brothers to a Father/Son dynamic, I would suggest Burn Gorman to play Willem's son.
