That happy birthday video…

He looked much more with it than I had envisioned (based on tabloids). It was good to see him engaged, animated and smiling.

reply

It was way creepier watching everyone else.

reply

Yeah. Probably the very worst thing they can do for his feelings is treat him like a baby the way they were doing.

reply

Well at least he looks happy. But I feel like he is lost inside.

He always had this swag about him, never even looking truly happy. Like full aware of himself and his importance. And now he looks like old grandpa now knowing what is happening around him. I never remember him being this easy going. I feel like his personality is slowly vanishing.

reply

I’m sure knowing things are shutting down inside would probably sap the swagger out of anyone. And being the center of a large support system of family that loves every inch of you must be profoundly humbling.

reply

I felt they were trying to paint a better picture than reality. It made me think of how people sometimes are very patronizing of the elderly in homes when they treat them like children unconsciously. Bruce is great, sad to see.

reply

I found it incredibly sad to watch. He may know how he wanted to react but it looked to me like it was not able to be expressed normally and if that was the case, I don't think they should have shown the video.

reply

He was missing a tooth 🦷 also! He did not look well. It’s even worse when I thought 💭

reply

I've even seen a current, major political leader who seems far less competent than Bruce Willis did in the birthday video.

reply

Agreed!

reply

In my opinion, he is "done" and will be worse later. This illness is not joke for everyone.

reply

It certainly is not. I've had close reletives with dementia (My Dad, Aunt, Grandmother, & Stepmom) & it's not a pretty sight to see them slowly wither away. :(
