The real reason Bruce Willis and Demi Moore divorced

In 1998, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s divorce was the break-up event of Hollywood. Despite living a lavish lifestyle thanks to their superstar careers and putting on the facade of a happy family hidden away in Idaho, behind the scenes, the couple had been slowly buckling from the strain of filming Hollywood blockbusters and, if rumors are to be believed, infidelities on both sides of the fence. By the end, their marriage had become a recipe for disaster.

Shame

I remember their wedding gift from 20th Century Fox was their entire film library on VHS Tapes.

reply

What a useless gift. They were pretty busy couple. Wouldn't got the time to watch all 20th Century Fox movies. Like... what thousands? Tens of thousands VHS tapes? Terrible idea.

reply

Not a true fan of either but seemed like balanced couple. Liked Bruce less. Never understood why their marriage ended. I think Bruce did better since the break up though as he dated hot girls probably hotter than her and she tried to trap that dufus Austin Kutcher.

reply

I think Kutcher used her to sleep his way up.

Bruce would have easily had his pick of younger women.

A lot of people didn't understand why they broke up. I know a lot of details have since been leaking about stress and control issues. But at the time one of their friends told the press everything seemed fine. It was like one day they just decided they were going to get divorced.

reply

Well, I gotta say they seem like pretty decent people and also stayed friendly after the divorce.

You don't hear much negativity about either of them, aside from Bruce being a bit of a lazy ass on set in the later part of his career.

I don't think the logic necessarily follows. If they both cheated, then they're also both capable of understanding, forgiving the other and moving on. I suspect the real reasons were that they were both bored and had options.
