I don't understand why people think he's gay.

Did you come to that conclusion because he said he was in A Few Good Men?

reply

In 1980, some of Tom's photos from his model days found their way in a gay magazine. I guess this would explain Bronson Pinchot's claim that Tom got carried away with the homophobic remarks on the set of Risky Business.

He used to hire Jeff Palmer, a gay porn star (who also escorted), back in the late '90s.

reply

You need to provide empirical evidence from a reliable source or you could find yourself getting sued for libel.

reply

How's Jeff Palmer himself for a source? And it's not 1950 anymore--I don't think being called "gay" is considered libel! Snap out of it.

reply

he is just really femmy and talks like a gay guy trying to be macho. ever play on a high school football team with a guy who was clearly a raging fudgepacker but desperately tried to hide it? totally wasnt me btw...but yeah, that's tom cruise.

reply

Ever seen the "Playing with the boys" scene?

reply

What's that from?

reply

Top Gun.

reply

Don't know. Maybe it has something to do with his participation in movies like "Porn on the 4th of July", "Cock Tale" and "Fagnolia"?

reply

And also "Missionary: Impossible."

Jack Reacharound...

For the record I don't think he is or some bitter ex of his (male or female) would have dropped a bomb by now. But we love a good conspiracy in America and he had some great smoke there. Mostly I think it's the fact that one of Scientologies self help areas is "curing" homosexuality. So people figured it made perfect sense for Cruise to be so locked in for life with them.

reply

I never even considered that.

reply

I never thought he was gay. Not that it makes any difference. I just can't stand the LGBTQ.

Bret Easton Ellis on Twitter: "Eyes Wide Shut makes total thematic sense when viewed as the dream-movie of a gay but closeted filmmaker, and starring Tom Cruise no less."

reply

The disrespect.

reply

Haha, imagine the laughter Kubrick would get out of that comment!

reply

Alan Cummings wrote in his memoir, Baggage, about working on Eyes Wide Shut: "Tom was sweet and approachable and talked lovingly of his wife, and no, nothing registered on my gaydar."

reply

Very interesting. That scene he has in EWS with Tom Cruise is hysterical despite the grim news Tom's character receives.
