I do occasionally get two to three months of downtime, not completely work-free, but light enough that I can work remotely and take off.

I usually rent a small apartment in a non-tourist area of southern Europe and try to immerse myself in the local culture. Resorts and hotels aren't for me. I can see the appeal, but they feel like I'm at a mall in the USA, which defeats the purpose for me. I want to eat food with the locals and not hear a word of English. It's pure escapism.

So, that's my long-winded way of saying: Travel. For June and July, take off for a while to see the world.
