In high school decades ago. I've also seen a few productions, but again, years ago. A Midsummer Night's Dream is the most accessible and my fave. The comedies are usually easier to understand than the tragedies.

I have, but I prefer Dickens, Dumas, and Tolstoy.

If it comes to screenplays or books turned into movies, it's Richard Matthesson.
