I usually search Youtube for a song I like, then add hard rock cover. Tons of songs pop up. You'd be surprised what songs have hard rock version, most bad, but a few gems.

The first version of Whiskey in the Jar I ever remember hearing was Metallica’s. I didn’t learn until later it was an old Irish folk song which was first played hard by Thin Lizzy.
