Larry David Considers Doing the Unthinkable With Rebooting SEINFELD

I didn't realize that the SEINFELD Finale was that Divisive among the fans?? I thought for a 1 hour episode with getting every major star to juggle their schedule to be in the Finale was pretty amazing in it's own right?? Sounds like expectations were simply too high and never would've pleased everyone?? What do you folks think?? Reboot or leave well enough alone??

Always thought a funny idea for a reunion would be George staging his own death and nobody shows up for his funeral so he starts tracking everybody down.

I for one always loved the finale. I thought it was basically perfect.

I like your reunion show idea.

I would rather see a Where are they Now Seinfeld show. George finally switches teams. Kramer is in jail for the January 6th riot. Elaine is getting married for the fourth time. Jerry has a new 18 year old GF.

The finale was awful, but so were the last few seasons of the show, so this is a terrible idea.

reply

I thought it was a good episode. I think high expectations resulted in a lot of negative reactions.

It's rare that a series finale for a popular show gets a really positive response. Breaking Bad comes to mind. Sometimes the negativity is deserved, like with Game of Thrones, sometimes maybe not so much.

The problem with the finale to me was that the cadence was off.

reply

Well with the entire episode taking place in a courtroom, I could see what you mean?? Seems like every episode takes place in Jerry's Apartment with him letting everyone up even people he didn't know.. Who does that in NYC?

reply

Oh and SEINFELD has it's own 24/7 streaming service.. Just type in SEINFELD 24/7 and it'll take you right to it.. All day, every day, 7 days a week

reply

I thought the same about the finale of MASH.

reply

If they're gonna do it, please, not as a superbowl commercial. How lame.

Julia Louis Dreyfus comments on this rumored reunion..

Look, let's understand something: No matter how good they could've possibly made that Finale, which I'm probably one of the few who enjoyed it, no one would ever be satisfied with it.. Everyone has a different idea of a Finale for probably the most popular sitcom of the 90's and it's basically impossible to please everyone folks.. What were they expecting for heaven's sake?? They managed to bring back every Guest Star over 9 Years for one episode, which is amazing in itself when you consider how everyone of the guest star's probably had to juggle their schedule to make it work.. What more did the fans want??

She really did seem to throw cold water on the idea that something was in the works

The finale was pretty disappointing and seemed lazy. Just a serious of cameos of characters celebrating the past success of the show. It felt more like a montage or summary of the entire series than an actual episode. I don't think it could have ever met expectations, but it certainly was not received well.
