Anybody still using just one monitor?

I just can't imagine using one PC monitor anymore and I mean on your personal desktop - not work. I guess I've become so adjusted to always having something running or playing on a second screen. Maybe this isn't as different as before, I used to have one monitor, but then a TV running next to me.

I use a Desktop with a 55" LED TV as my monitor. I work on this computer, browse the web, and watch all my movies and TV shows on it.
I technically do have a second monitor; I have the second connector hooked up to a projector in my living room. I have two wireless mice, and two keyboards, this way I can control the desktop from either my bedroom or my living room without needing to carry the keyboard/mouse back and forth.

I've got two. I'm often streaming something while I do other things. I'd hate to go back to one monitor!

My home computers have been laptops for decades. I see no need for a home desktop.

The PC I have gets powered on every few months to do Windows updates. Rarely outside of that anymore.

My daily use machine is a laptop and I use the built in screen.

What do you have running or playing on your second monitor?

reply

I have one monitor, really don't see the point in having two.

Hell no 2 at work and home. minimum. big ones.

I do know people however who've been provided with a laptop to work from home and are using
1) the shitty screen with no additional monitors
2) the shitty keyboard not plugging a real one in
3) this is the worst bit - the shitty mouse pad , not plugging a real mouse in .

How they get anything done is beyond me ,
If I were their boss I'd sack them for crippling their own productivity .

I completely agree with these statements! Yes, and these friggen morons who insist on doing all their work on laptops from home are probably not even at home, and probably out and about or in the backyard chilling. We end up doing all their work, and they get promoted b/c they are "diversity" hires. Recently one of these morons used their 'touchpad' and unwittingly dragged the main documents folder for our team into another folder. Needless to say, we spent hours looking for and restoring the missing data, only to find it dragged into that other folder later.

yeah ive seen that one a couple of times
"My folders disappeared!

Same here. I had one monitor most of my life, but once I got used to two, I felt like I would never go back.

When I worked, most of my projects were done from a laptop because I traveled with my job. I occasionally used a second, much larger monitor on my desk when I needed to do detail work.

For the past 10 years, Ive had a Mac laptop - no way do I want to sit for hours in a chair at a desk. Most of the time I'm relaxed and on my sofa when I use it.
