Who is an actor, where no matter how bad the movie is, they are still great in it?

I could name several, but I have liked Willem Dafoe in every movie I've seen him in, regardless of if I didnt like the overall movie.

I wanna add Elias Koteas. He's been good in everything I've seen him in and yet not enough recognition as others.

Daniel von Bargen is another actor no one mentioned yet who is great in everything I've seen him in!
I remember him the most from Malcolm in the Middle, but was always pleased with his performances

John Ritter stars in one of the best Buffy Episodes! I couldnt find the clip, but the creepiest part of the episode is when Buffy cheats at the mini-golf game and Ted catches her cheating. He goes on this rant about how cheating is wrong and is absentmindedly thumping his own leg slowly with the golf club in his hand. Buffy notices and the guy is practically foaming at the mouth over a silly game being played incorrectly. Really underscores the possible horror of a step-father turning violent. Might hit too close to home for some. But thats why it was so good. Wasnt some monster, just a possible new step-father. I have thought for years how it may have been a better story if Ted remained human and they didnt discover he was an Android

Ritter always had a calm nice guy demeanor to me so yeah seeing him in that ep of Buffy playing the dark side of having such a personality was interesting. He did really well with it and was totally creepy. It was always very real, the step parent coming in and wanting to put their own brand on the family, wanting to set the tone. I always thought Androids were a bit out of place on Buffy, now if he were under a spell or a demon that may have worked better. Or just been a prick of a human being but that would have made it too easy for Buffy to beat him to a pulp.

Ritter "coming back from the dead" after Buffy broke his neck with a kick down the stairs was pretty jarring.

My favorite roles of his are two Problem Child 1 & 2
along with his role in Stephen Kings IT (1990)

What ...

Nobody likes Woody Haroldson ... or Harrison Ford?????

🙄

Those guys are A-list premium actors, they always bring the thunder!

I cannot imagine Zombieland without Woody!

Whats you favorite Woddy Harrelson movie? Mine is Zombieland.

Whats your favorite Harrison Ford movie? Mine is Temple of Doom

Cheers...

For Woody - The Highwaymen / The thin Red Line / No Country for old men

For Harrison - All of Indiana Jones / Star wars / Air force one

From your original Post... it seems there are a good many favourite Actors LoL 😉

People have brought up so many at this point that it made me realize why actors get the gigs they get. They have talent, presence, this kind of charm that makes you want to see more. Sometimes they look interesting, can emote so well, or as I wrote they have presence. Dont even have to be A-list to make it. Sure those are the household names, but everyone is familiar with faces of actors and grow to love them all the same.

Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz in "Oz, the Great and Powerful"

Gina Davis in "Cutthroat Island"

Jeremy Irons hamming it up is what helped carry that earlier D&D film to higher steps xD

Rachel Weisz has been a crush of mine for many years, I love the movie Constantine partly because shes in it. At one point I got a factory job and after work I was so dogged I would lay on my couch and just watch Constantine while falling asleep, everynight, for a week straight.

Geena Davis is great and she was wonderful in The Long Kiss Goodnight. Cuthroat Island is an underrated film and I consider it a better pirate film than Pirates of the Caribbean. All the names in Cuthraot island were awesome. Mr. Glasspool and Mr. Snellgrave. Such cool names xD

I could tell Jeremy Irons was hamming it up because he is normally a very good actor; so when my brother and I watched the 2000 D&D film, we both knew he was only doing what the director told him to do, not because he was a bad actor or anything. Two other actors we recognized in the film were also good at what they did, though we've only seen them on tv: Justin Whelan and the actress who played the mage girl.

I think I first saw Rachel Weisz in "The Mummy" and she's been great in everything she's in ever since.

I loved watching Geena Davis in "Earth Girls Are Easy." She was also very good in "Beetlejuice." She takes very good care of herself. She's still beautiful, even today.

Nice to see a fellow fan :D

Wonderful mention, I enjoyed his character in Lockout even though the movie wasnt quite up to par. (it had so much going for it but fell flat in the end). Of course I have known him already for years and loved his appearance in every movie he is in! Good villain for The Count of Monte Cristo.
