Historical People Who Should Have Biopics

Who are some historical people you think should have biopics made about them? (These don't have to be people you personally like, just people you think should have their life brought to the screen.)

Here are some people I think biopics should be made about:

Nikola Tesla
Bob Ross
David Bowie
Dr. Seuss
Aretha Franklin
Eleanor Roosevelt
Sally Ride
H.P. Lovecraft
Evel Knievel
Alice Stebbins Wells

Ahmo Haight

I've never heard of that person.

reply

Google her name, and check out the footage. You're well advised to not do so at work

reply

Alfred E. Neuman

reply

Haha, a biopic about a mascot would definitely be interesting.

reply

Michael Jackson

And he should be played by Sandra Bullock.

There was a film about Evel Knievel in 1971: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evel_Knievel_(1971_film)

There was the TV miniseries Eleanor and Franklin about the Roosevelts in 1976:

There was another made-for-TV movie in 2005:

Nikola Tesla was featured in this 2017 movie: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Current_War
Also this from 2020: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_(2020_film)

Aretha Franklin was the subject here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respect_(2021_American_film)

I didn't know about any of those. I'll have to look into them!

I’d like to see biopic about the life of L Ron Hubbard and the creation of Scientology.

Sci-fi writer turned cult leader who created a genius scam.

reply

‘Genius Scam’

Yay slumber party at Shoguns, I'll bring beer to go with the noodles and you can pick a movie.

Anytime!

A Gremlins and The Goonies double feature works for me

reply

I would totally watch that.

John Jacob Astor
Sergei Witte
William M. "Boss" Tweed
John D. Rockefeller

Great choices!

Any wife of Henry VIII that isn't Anne Boleyn (recent tv shows don't count).

reply

I agree. I personally would love to see one about Jane Seymour who, from my understanding, was Henry's favorite wife and the only one to receive a queen's burial.

reply

It's true; there is so much we don't know about the other wives, other than their brief roles as Henry's spouses.

Lafayette
Hannibal
Sinatra
Ben Franklin
Magellan
John Belushi

reply

Nice choices. There definitely needs to be a movie about Magellan.
