I like virtually everything he’s done (film wise), but The Mummy was a real disappointment (and it shouldn’t have been because it had Russell Crowe in it too (who I also love) - but, there you go

reply

What about Cocktail? Don’t leave it out.

I like most of his stuff. Magnolia the best of the bunch.

mi: fallout - just about a perfect action movie 5/5
going clear - scientology and the prison of belief 4
mi: ghost protocol 4/5
minority report 4
edge of tomorrow - 4
mi: 3 4 - i've only seen 3 mi films, but they've all been pretty great imo.
magnolia - 4 far far far too long. but loaded with great stuff.
war of the worlds - 3.5
vanilla sky - 3.5 - i know it's boring to say 'the foreign language original was better' but it really was so much better.
tropic thunder - 3
collateral - 2

i guess that's all i've seen. for someone who wouldn't call himself a fan or admirer at all, i like a lot of his films quite a bit.

I cannot recommend Mission Impossible Rogue Nation enough to you

I've liked the movie ever since it came out ... but when Mission Impossible fallout came out in 2018, I had the clear opinion that fallout was definitely better and I've had that opinion the last 3 years

but just this month I watched Mission Impossible GP,RN and Fallout and came away kind of blown away by Rogue Nation.

I now feel Rogue Nation is the better overall movie.

But I do feel Fallout has slightly better action and feels more epic

anyways I just want to very much recommend you watching Rogue Nation, in my opinion it's the best of the series and I now have the opinion it's an extremely underrated film

The lack of Eyes wide shut over here is astonishing.

reply

I've never actually watched that film in its entirety. Saw a couple of minutes of it when I was a teen. Didn't care for it

Maybe I should try it again as adult.

reply

You should! I hope you’ll enjoy it. It has quite an atmosphere to it.
