Looking for some suggestions for comedies

Anyone know of any good comedies to recommend with side-splitting laughter inducing scenes. I've found that the type of humor most likely to evoke that reaction in me are ones that have a very weird main character doing really crazy stuff in a normal situation and the ensuing interactions with other normal people in the scene. Here's a few examples that stand out in my memory that really had me laughing:

Tommy Boy - I Killed my Sale scene

Billy Madison - Invisible Penguin

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls - Monopoly Guy

Freddy Got Fingered - Daddy Would You Like Some Sausages

Master of Disguise - Jaws Scene

That should give a good idea of what sort of thing I'm looking for. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Dumb and dumber
City Slickers
Analyze This
The thing about Mary
Slap Shot

reply

Dumb and Dumber rocked. The ones I've seen of the others weren't quite weird enough of humor for my tastes. Never saw Slap Shot though, so maybe I'll look for that one.

reply

Slap Shot will blow you away, I guarantee it.

reply

Do you mean Something About Mary?

(It was funny, anyway. Recommendation agreed)

Here’s some recent films
Spy - Jason Statham is surprisingly hilarious.
Dodgeball
Team America: World Police
Shaun of the Dead
Borat
Grimsby
The Inbetweeners Movie
Idiocracy
Zoolander
The Hangover

reply

Team America and Borat I loved. I forgot to add the Team America Dicks, Pussies and assholes bar scene followed by the vomiting to my list in the original post. I’ll check out some of those others tho. Shaun was great too.

reply

The thing I loved about Spy was the Jason Statham character kept boasting about his increasingly unbelievable escapades and then you eventually realise that he’s just describing things that he’s done in his other movies, so he’s completely sending himself up - comedy gold!

reply

Agreed. Spy was an excellent, unsung comedy. People that don't like McCarthy are missing out on what is possibly her only funny performance.

Spy: 8.5/10

Saw the first 3, found them funny so Dead Pool 2. Entertaining as an action movie but also very funny.

reply

I enjoyed the both Deadpool’s. Baby arms scenes were great.

reply

yeah, both good films

reply

Knocked Up (2007) is very funny if you haven't seen it.

reply

MY FAVORITE PART OF BOTH DEADPOOL FLICKS IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEADPOOL AND COLOSSUS...A BUDDY COP STYLE MOVIE WITH THEIR BACK AND FORTH UP FRONT WOULD HIT ME RIGHT IN THE SWEET SPOT.

The Great Dictator (1940)

I probably should delve deeper back in time. There’s probably a lot of good stuff I haven’t seen. That ones a Chaplin movie, right?
