I hardly know any.

Name a at least 3 part movie series that did well all throughout its whole series.

How to train your dragon

The Bourne Trilogy

Nothing fancy, just remake the same movie three times.

reply

Whole series. There was a 4th film.

reply

I still wish they had made the film ' Hanna ' (2011) as the fourth Bourne film. It would have slotted very well into the Bourne story line and would have been an actual progression instead of a rinse and repeat.

reply

Hanna was better than Jason Bourne. What a disappointing movie.

reply

I haven't watched that one, probably never will.

Toy Story series
Evil Dead trilogy
Three Colours trilogy
Pusher trilogy
The Dark Knight trilogy
Amores Perros death trilogy

reply

I can’t believe someone hasn’t mentioned Indiana Jones.

reply

I think The crystal Skull pissed a lot of people off...I liked it as much as The Last Crusade one but maybe the CGI was a bit wonky for some folks..?

reply

Well, the OP said 3 part. My dvd collection includes the first three but The Crystal Skull will never be purchased. 😀

reply

The fridge/atomic bomb sequence was very silly😆

At the risk of getting bullwhipped I liked Skull as much as Crusade lol

The first two were certainly the best

reply

My favourite is temple of doom. Not an opinion shared by many.

reply

Lots of people would probably agree with you on this
I love Ark but Temple was arguably better, there was an element of gross-out humor and horror in Temple that made it a bit of a stand-out...what kid ever ate noodles and didn't think 'Chilled Monkey Brains?'

The Dollars Trilogy

A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Thank you!!

Despicable Me (2010) was a surprise hit when it was released. It led to Despicable Me 2 (2013), Despicable Me 3 (2017) and the Minions (2015) spinoff. Plus numerous short films, a holiday special, video games, books, plush toys, and much more.

A fourth film and another spinoff featuring the Minions are reported to be in development.

reply

Can't wait for the ' Despicable Minions ' spinoff.

I know I'm going to get some backlash on this but I really think that the Star Trek TOS movies were all at least solid (as in "did well"). They're not all 5 star delights but they're all entertaining, IMHO.

Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
