AC/DC also scored a number 1. I'm sensing a trend, people just wanting good songs and entertainment without the X rated add on's and politics?

reply

Yep!
My thread regarding this: -

I think I said something similar there too. I would like to think that movies and tv shows catch up as well, people are sick of politics being rammed their throats all the time. There only job is to entertain.

The last Macca album I really liked was Flowers in The Dirt, but I'm giving it a proper listen now, Kiss of Venus, Lavatory Lil, Pretty Boys and Deep Deep Feeling I like so far.

I’m a massive Macca fan (even though he has recorded one or two atrocious things in the past). I’ll be ordering this when I return home.

reply

I'm much more of a Beatles fan, I kinda stopped buying Macca albums after Off The Ground which I found disappointing. I’ve never really given his newer albums much of a listen since, although I love House of Wax from Memory Almost Full but it was even a cover by a metal artist that got me interested in that!

reply

I would put all his recent stuff under the good, not great column.

reply

Must be CD sales.

reply

I will be responsible for one of those.

reply

78, still going strong!

reply

We will miss him when he’s gone 😞

reply

Oof, awful to think about
Too many top shelf legends lost in the last few years and nobody can ever replace them

reply

This is why I’ve done my damnedest to see as many as I can over the last few years, basically saying yes to everything. One drawback of Covid this year.

reply

I have trouble getting into new stuff from the legends I love.

reply

I know what you mean, but if you’ve a fan of Paul Simon, his last couple of albums were superb.

reply

It'll probably plummet out of the charts quicker than Madonna's last album.

reply

Madame X reached No.2 and remained on the UK chart for 5 weeks.

Let’s see.
