Movie franchises that used to be huge but now totally forgotten

The Da Vinci Code

Lethal Weapon

Its popularity has lived on and I think there has been talks of a fifth movie. I saw the third movie on TNT when I was at the gym a few nights ago.

reply

No Way you live.

with an answer like that.

Ma and Pa Kettle - look them up. They were in 10 movies in the 50s, that were very successful. They may have been the inspiration for shows like the Beverly Hill Billies. They are so bad, its hard to understand how they were popular.

reply

Maybe there were no other options jn the 50s.

reply

There was definitely a lot less choice than now.

I always liked the films until the actor who played Pa Kettle left. I can see why many people would consider it out of date now as well as upsetting the Woke crowd due to the Indians they sometimes had in the films. But they are still entertaining.

reply

I’ve only seen a couple of them, and I think they were later ones. They were very slow paced and boring.

reply

The Thin Man... which is a pity, since they're really funny and enjoyable mystery movies.

reply

That was going to be my answer. Also The Saint.

reply

Also Philip Marlowe movies.

reply

That is not forgotten. It plays regularly on cable and OTA television. It may not be talked about but it's not forgotten.

reply

Great great movies. They should be remembered more.

Star Wars

Matrix

reply

We're getting Matrix 4. Tho' I wonder who actually asked for it.

reply

CARRIE ANNE MOSS AND THE WACHOWSKI SISTERS DEMANDED IT,I WOULD IMAGINE...ONE OF THEM WAS HOLDING A MARKER ON KEANU...HE WAS OBLIGED.

reply

Rambo
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Pirates of the Carribean

reply

RAMBO JUST HAD A SEQUEL AND THE OTHER TWO HAVE RECENT SEQUELS AND NEW SEQUELS IN THE WORKS.

reply

Yeah but does anybody care? Maybe some do, but not me.

reply

I don't think anyone cares about the Resident Evil movies anymore.

reply

THEY FELL OFF THE CLIFF..AS A FAN,EVEN I HAVE TO SAY THE FINAL CHAPTER WAS CRAPPY...HOWEVER THE RESIDENT EVIL REBOOT IS IN THE WORKS.

reply

Also the game is still going strong. They just remade the 3rd and Resident Evil 8 will be released 2021 on PS5. Exciting times. They should reboot the movies.

reply

Rambo

reply

Nope, the 5th one came out last year.

reply

no longer relevant

reply

No doubt a terrible movie with the character renamed Rambo so Stallone and the studio could fleece money out of people like me, but still, the franchise is hardly forgotten.
