List of things worse than covid 19

That reminds me of a story ...

We were on our way to smoke pot on an office building balcony/walkway that overhung the local police station dispatch center (a phase of exciting locale smoking) and so, of course, we were smoking pot on the way there. I had a cigarette during the aft end of our journey there. Once we finished our low-thrills stunt and returned to the car, I had a severe need to quench my Olympic level dry mouth. I remembered that I had an unfinished Dr Pepper in the car so I unscrewed the cap and took a big gulp of what little was left as we drove away. A slight ashy taste delivered a payload of forgotten recent memory. Oh sweet Jesus, I had put my cigarette out in the bottle. I tore at the thin foam that surrounded the barrel shaped bottle, desperate to see the cigarette butt and affirm my hope that I had not swallowed it. Nothing but a half inch of lukewarm Doc sloshing about. I rolled down the window and someone saw our car drive through the intersection they waited at with my head sticking out striping the street with vomit. My buddy pulled over and I spent a minute emptying my gut. I saw no butt in the former contents of my stomach. I preserved my sanity by clinging to the notion that it must have come out in my initial salvo while motoring. Couldn't drink Doc for about 5 years. Still my favorite drink even so.
