Drive-in theatres

Are there any left where you live?

I just found out recently there's still one here. Apparently someone bought the old place, which had gotten very run-down, who had the best timing ever. He or she is going to open it soon, or maybe it's already open, and you know people are going to flock to it.

Who knows, maybe it'll revitalise drive-ins. For a while anyway.

I loved going to them when I was a kid, but as I got older pretty much the only movies shown in them were crap, so I lost interest. You?

we only have one drive-in theater here in Las Vegas. It has 6 screens. we use to 7 drive-ins.

I've never even seen one. Would love to go to one but the weather is so unpredictable in Britain. It would end up like that scene from Twister 😒

Catbookss (and everyone else) check out this link. Its a great site if you like drive-ins. Just click on your state. Might be a drive-in closer than you think!

The last time I went to a drive in theater was to see the film The Fly, with Vincent Price. My friend and I got drunk and cried when the Fly said "Help me! Help me!"

I remember it well.

Lucky am I to have three drive-ins within a reasonable distance, and they're all currently open. Here's looking forward to a fun summer!

Any idea what movies they're showing?

reply

I believe that information is available on the internet.

reply

True, but I don't know the name of your theaters. I was wondering if they're showing old classics, having 'horror' nights, or something else. Hollywood is still pretty much shut down is my understanding, so new releases are being delayed. Just curious because we're all anxious to get back to some semblance of normal. I imagine some folks don't care what's showing - they just want to go out to a movie.

There are lots of newly reopened Drive-ins these days. There's one movie that satisfies all them criteria...

reply

Aha. Looks like a mix of newer and older movies. Plenty of Groundhog Day fans around.

Enjoy!
