What famous people have you met?

I've met quite a few at celebrity events and such.
Just a few:
Martin Landau.---2015 in L.A. I had breakfast with him and he was yelling at the waiter: "No good, no good, this egg isn't hard enough, I need a HARD boiled egg. Now PLEASE!" So over the top, obviously still acting. He was funny. Later he went outside for a smoke. I guess when you're in your 80s you can do whatever you want. But had he quit he'd probably still be alive.
Barbara Eden- 2014--Chicago-- Just asked how her dog Djinn Djinn was and stuff.
Ed Asner-2017 Chicago.-- Met him while he was eating lunch: a tamale. He's funny too.
A few others:
Chuck Negron (of 3 Dog Night)
Kim Darby
Lesley Ann Warren
Robert Clary (Lebeau)
And 1994: Jay Leno interviewed me in the NYC subway for a segment for the Tonight Show that never aired. I don't really like him anyway (he's not as bad as Letterman though, but so far below Carson).
1994-- Sarah Silverman in NYC before she was famous handing out flyers for a comedy club. I said I wasn't interested. Then she started a kind of comedy bit at my expense (if you know her type of humor). I should have gone, oh well.

This one will mean nothing to most but some will not believe it’s true.

A couple of years ago at Frightmare I met Claudio Fragasso and his wife who were both very nice. He’s known for directing Troll 2, although I’m much more interested in many of his other films. After talking for a while I asked about the Jug Of Nilbog milk he had on display in his booth and a lady from the convention said it’s not for sale because it’s an actual prop from the making of the movie, but Claudio insisted I have it and signed it as well. It looks pretty old and I’ve even looked online to see if there are replicas being sold and have not found any.

I know in the movie there are 3 or 4 jugs shown, so I may be in possession of one of the last remaining 1/2 gallons of Nilbog milk on the planet.

reply

Wow, based on the stories from cast and crew he seemed kind of a jerk, but that was a nice thing to do. Maybe it was a language barrier thing?

reply

Him and his wife do speak broken English and the convention employee kept telling him that he should not, but he insisted. I might have just caught him in a great mood. If there’s ever a fire in my house it will be one of the first things I grab. 🤣 they both did seem like genuinely nice people.

reply

Could be he's just an evil guy and wants you to turn into a goblin.🤔

Whatever you do, don't drink the milk or eat the green stuff!

reply

If I do, you already know what I will say.

reply

I'm curious about what Rick from Pawn Stars would offer you for that... after consulting one of his buddies, of course.

reply

You'll get more selling it on eBay!

reply

I'm sure, Strat. The guy is a ruthless negotiator, lol.

reply

Seriously though, I’ve looked them up to see if anyone even makes replicas on eBay, Amazon or whatever and I can’t find any.

reply

I can relate. I've got a unique, hand crafted item I've been trying to sell online which also appears to be an enigmatic one-of-a-kind.

reply

What is it?

reply

It's a bit difficult to describe. In a nutshell, it's a large, 3-D relief wall decoration of a castle high in the mountains somewhere in Germany. I've gone over it numerous times and haven't been able to find the signature of an artist or a manufacturer. And like you, I've done likewise numerous online searches and haven't been able to find anything similar.

reply

That sounds really cool and I would love to see a pic of it. Wish we could post images here. 🙁

reply

It also has a unique feature that incorporates differently colored Christmas bulbs. In other words, it lights up at night, in a dimly lit room, which makes it especially visually stunning.

reply

Where did this item come from??

reply

It's part of an inheritance. I don't care to provide anymore details, ok?

reply

No problem :)

reply

I've never in my life met an internationally known celebrity. I've seen a handful at a distance, but that's it.

reply

Not even Rutger Hauer?

reply

The guy lived way up north in the country (which I didn't even know until after he died). I did see a couple of Dutch actors when I went to college in Amsterdam.

reply

reply

Olympic skater Peggy Fleming - many years ago. I used to hang around with a bunch of figure skaters. No, I wasn't a skater but I had a lot of friends who were.

Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings - also a long time ago. I worked for a music distributor at the time and several of my co-workers and I got free tickets and a backstage pass to meet them - it was during the Outlaws tour in Phoenix. Both were very nice, but Willie was more outgoing. Upon meeting him, he took my hands in his and gave me a peck on the cheek.

I met Peggy Fleming - she lives in my hometown. This was back in the 1990s when I was a bartender. She came into the restaurant I worked at. She asked for a drink and then was sent to her table. I poured her a thick vodka cranberry and had the server give it to her. She had it sent back saying she appreciated it but it was too strong.

reply

Gary Coleman from Different Strokes. Thats it. He was at a club here years back.

reply

What you talking bout tcrum?

reply

I don't want to speak ill of the dead, but he wasn't very nice.

reply

I refuse to believe that! He had such chubby cheeks!! 😄

reply

Not that many..

Troy Donahue (Long washed up but doing a hospital benefit and very polite)

Bill and Hilary Clinton ( This was at a bar where only regulars were allowed in. I wasn't a regular but the guy I was with was) Also very polite.

Bertie Higgins - (Key Largo/the song). He came into a bar with his ex producer Sonny Limbo that had become a sad drunk. Sonny wanted to prove that he had once been somebody, had gold records and said, among others, he had co wrote and produced Key Largo. Turned out to be true.

Paul Newman- Not young anymore but still beautiful.

There may be others ..I don't remember.

reply

Ooooo. Paul Newman!

reply

I’m not sure if I’m more jealous of you for meeting Paul Newman or glenellyn for meeting willie nelson.
