I don't know. The video is a show in Germany and the fans are certainly enthusiastic. Their 1972 Europe Tour is legendary amongst fans, producing one of their best-selling albums, Europe '72. Their 1990 Tour of Europe was well attended, AFAIK.

Maybe part of the answer is that most of their songs weren't particularly radio-friendly due to their length, and not particularly pop oriented. Even in the US they only had one Top 10 single, "Touch of Grey" (1987), which was also their only entry into the Top 40. Their albums fared much better.
