Shows you love but hate

Which shows did you start out loving, but end up hating? For me, Buffy is the ultimate example. I so love the first three seasons, one of my favourite shows ever. The fourth season was already disappointing, but it just got worse and worse after that. It turned into something I would've avoided at all costs. I like to pretend the rest of the show simply doesn't exist.

reply

Frazier. I watched the entire series but it was ehh, so-so.

reply

Yeah 'Frasier' was a good show but very cerebral and small doses were sufficient. I feel the same way about 'Seinfeld', it was funny but continual Jewish whining does get tedious.

reply

I'm totally the opposite of most Seinfeld fans, it seems. I thought the early seasons were WAY funnier. In the beginning the characters were still relatable, later they just became disgusting people. I hated the whole storyline with George's fiancée.

reply

Frasier was funny in the beginning (although I didn't appreciate it until I was older). They just stretched out the whole Daphne and Niles thing for WAY too long, it just became sillier and sillier. Looking back, Roz having a baby seemed like sort of a jump-the-shark-moment.

reply

I agree with the Daphne/Niles thing going on too long. Didn't care for the Roz-baby thing either.

reply

Sons of Anarchy, all because Gemma went insane, and also seemed to have the power of teleportation, traveling great distances in mere minutes.

reply

And she didn't have a chopper?

reply

I assume you mean a motorcycle, and, no, to my recollection she always rode with her husband.

Leave the superpowers aside. The material fact is that she was a despicable and psychotic twat who ruined what had been a compelling series.

reply

"Saved by the bell" UGH, stupid show.

reply

You hate the original show or New Class?

reply

Damn Strat, you have watched a helluva lot of shows.

reply

A helluva lot??? I don't think it's that bad! 😆

I've only seen one or two seasons of New Class, though. It really stank!

reply

Yeah I remember it being awful. I liked Saved by the bell as a child, not sure how much I would like it now though.

reply

I've done a rewatch. You have to take it for what it is, that way it's certainly enjoyable if you just want to sit down and relax for a bit.

reply

LOVELY BUTT HATE?

reply

If that's your kind of thing, sure, why not.

reply

Shows you love but hate....READING...ITS FUNDAMENTAL AND SHIT.

reply

Don't be so HARD on yourself.

reply

BEING HARD ON MYSELF IS HOW I GET MY SUBSCRIBERS...NO ONE IS GONNA PAY 12.99 AN HOUR TO WATCH A GUY BE "SOFT"ON HIMSELF.

reply

Dude, where can I subscribe???

reply

I wouldn't say I hated the walking dead, but I certainly lost interest around the time Nagan joined the show.

Nothing against Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The show just was getting stale, kind of repeating itself.

reply

30 Rock sucked after season 3 immediately

Futurama sucked when It came back from cancellation

Spongebob Squarepants after the first movie came out...I cant even get started on this one.

Family Guy started to suck about a season or two after they came back from cancellation and it definitely still sucks today

Greys anatomy after the original cast started to move on to other things..well I wouldnt say that I hate it but I couldn't get into it.

The walking dead. I like Jeffrey dean Morgan but not even he could get me back. This started going downhill after Shane died but it still entertaining until season 4 or 5...then I was just all like who the f cares anymore?

I'm sure there's others

reply

Actually, I think Futurama started to suck before it was canceled. This is going to be an unpopular opinion but I hated how dark it got in the last season. It felt like someone with emotional or mental problems was using the show to work through his issues. I really dislike the episode with Fry's dog for this reason. I don't mind emotional, sappy stuff but it ends on such a dark note, with Fry thinking that his dog happily moved on after his disappearance, when the reality is that it died waiting for him to return.

reply

Supernatural. The first 8 seasons were amazing, then it just started to repeat, and now season 15, not good.

reply

The Simpsons. I loved the first few seasons to death, enough to where I was taping episodes on VHS and watching them repeatedly (this was before syndication). Now I hate it and the show runners.

Another show like that was Defiance. It started out so awesome, and then it completely went off the rails by the end of the second season. I tried muscling through season three but became so angry and disgusted, I didn't bother watching the last few episodes. I hated the show so much that I blotted it out of memory, to the point where I can't even remember the title without looking it up.
