When do you take your Christmas decorations down?

The 12 Days of Christmas ends tomorrow and I will take everything down next weekend. The month of December is so hectic for me that I enjoy the week after New Years just relaxing, watching football, and looking at my decorations one last time.

The tree was taken down on Jan 2.

Next weekend because we’ve only just returned from holiday.

Not religious, but just out of habit from my youth, everything stays up until after різдвяні/Rizdvyani (Orthodox Christmas).

I started to take them down yesterday. I noticed the inflatables were still wet so I turned them on to dry them out. It poured yesterday so they got soaked again. Now I have to dry them out again.

Whenever I feel like it? 😃

Generally, New Year's Day, but it's the 4th and they're still up. Recycling pickup comes Monday for Christmas trees, so I'll have it done by then. Probably.

I’m amazed that all 12 days of Christmas haven’t been commercialized yet.

So true.

On Epiphany, which is Monday.

The Boar's Head celebration is today and I have never been - I think I will go next year.

I've never heard of it before. It seems to have its roots in paganism? (much like Christmas itself!) Sounds interesting, might be fun for you to go next year.

Very traditional and held in churches. I like the idea of Christmas lingering past the 25th and NY Day. We are blasted with everything connected with the holidays as soon as Halloween is over and then bam - it's abruptly over. It's nice to wind down.

I only put up the tree and other decorations one week before Christmas, so it's way too early to already take them down on January 1st. And why not stretch it out a little? The first months of the year are so boring!
