Depends what you mean by gay. Any gay act is "doing gay stuff". On the other hand, when I think "gay" what I'm referring to is attraction to the same sex. So if you were raised Christian, have a wife and kids, but secretly have always wanted to make out with other guys, you are fucking gay!! You aren't someone "struggling with sin", you are insecure and in denial about your own sexual nature! A guy who is repulsed by male intimacy, but gets an erection by forcing a guy to give him oral, then puts it in his butt while closing his eyes and imagining a woman and ejaculates that way... sure, he might not be attracted to guys, but he still willingly did gay stuff, so yeah I would say he's gay. When I haven't had female contact, which is most of the time, I beat off. There's no reason you can't beat off in prison. At no point have I thought, "there aren't enough women who find me attractive, maybe I need to go bi"...

shareI actually didn't put enough thought into it. I completely overlooked the significance of coerced consent. There's a difference between "doing gay stuff" because you're afraid of getting your head bashed in, vs doing it because you want to ejaculate. If someone was the rapee in this situation, I wouldn't call them gay.
Then there's the systemic problems of why rape or homosexuality may be more prevalent. You are more likely to find predatory rapist criminals in jail, that's part of the equation, but then I thought what if long periods of jail actually turns people gay? If it's a situation where you barely see women and start to forget what they look like, it all becomes a blur, then maybe you start to see aspects of women that you are attracted to in men also, and it just blends together until you turn gay. If we aren't giving these inmates access to porn and whatnot, we may in fact be sentencing them to gayness.

share. What you presented has been covered a lot in media, and I feel it's B.S. to equate sexual preference with how desperate you supposedly are. If sexual is only about how pleasurable it feels--and not about which gender you're having sex with-- it's meaningless. (if the person is schizophrenic and doesn't know the difference, then that would be different) Rape, by the way, is about both sex and violence, not just violence.
