Most successful actors that are terrible

Actors
Michael Myers

reply

Nicole Kidman
Russell Crowe- he was ok once but as he became more successful his performances also became more pompous.

reply

The gobshite arse kisser - James Corden

reply

The list is longer than war and peace.

reply

warren beatty

reply

Will Smith, same shtick every film.

Frank Sinatra--a lazy and bum actor. How he copped an Oscar for From Here to Eternity is beyond me. Famous for one take in every movie of his, rather improving his actor skills for every take.

Dean Martin--rolling my eyes. GAG!

How about Paris Hilton?? Double GAG!

Lindsay Lohan??

reply

No way on Frank Sinatra! I disagree! What about Man with the Golden Arm or Suddenly? He was 10x better in that film (Suddenly) than Humphrey Bogart was in a similar movie (The Desperate Hours).

reply

Keanu Reeves

There’s a bomb on the bus.

reply

He's breathtaking tho'...

reply

When he was young, yes, he was terrible. His british accent in Dracula was the worst.

reply

This. I'm not a native english speaker so it's a bit harder for me to detect bad acting in english, but I've seen even people who don't speak a word of english cringe at Keanu.

reply

I 100% disagree about Keanu Reeves.

He is literally the only actor I can remember who's been successfully able to reinvent himself for a new generation and different genre of film each and every decade. I don't think a "bad" actor can do that.

reply

You may be right. I have only seen his earlier movies.

reply

I'm going to avoid obvious ones like Adam Sandler:

Michael B. Jordan. I don't get it. He's pretty mediocre.

I've never like Michelle Williams. I find her acting so bland.

Jennifer Aniston. Nice girl but really outside of Friends, has she truly been good?

Melissa McCarthy is not funny. Ever.

Robert Downey Jr. I give him full credit for playing a dude who's playing another dude in one film, but every other film is just him talking fast.

reply

I actually noticed him channelling Jeff Goldblum in Due Date. The scene where he mentions his father walking out on him. It wasn't bad acting if it was his signature delivery but it was someone elses. I hate when I notice obvious imitations.

reply

I agree about RDJ. He is not that good an actor. He was completely miscast in the Sherlock Holmes movies and nowhere near as scary funny as everyone made him out to be in Tropic Thunder.

reply

Christopher Walken haha!!!! He's the same character in every movie.
(I still like him though)

reply

Yes. He is only famous for his creepy onscreen persona and weird delivery. That's it. His performance in Peter Pan Live was very telling, especially compared to John Stamos and Queen Latifah on The Little Mermaid. Walken came across as a complete amateur; Stamos and Queen Latifah came across as naturals used to acting in whatever capacity.

reply

He was especially bad in Communion. His delivery was just super odd for the storyline. I did find his performance in The Dead Zone particularly effective though. I think it's because he was playing a regular Joe.
