I had to get up and move today at the movies

A woman sat next to me and I just couldn't stand her slurping on drinks, munching on popcorn, licking her icecream. I reached breaking point where I didn't care if she was offended. I moved to the front. I wanted to only process the movie (Angel Has Fallen), it's audio, it's visual, not her, not her sounds.

Am I rude?

reply

You were not rude
It sounds like she was being rude

reply

I usually look very carefully before I take a seat at the movies, etc. People annoy me most of the time, so I try to be proactive.

reply

I can't stand it when I sit next to someone who smells bad. Today at a library I was sitting next to a guy who smelled like he hadn't taken a bath in months. Ugh! I got up and moved.

reply

Yeah people who smell bad are the worst. It was worse when I was a kid in Australia. Men still saw deodorant as "poofy" (for homosexuals). So in a country that is hot and humid and an age before air conditioning on buses etc, it was a smelly place.

Now the worst offenders here are foreigners from India/Pakistan and Sudan. Not sure if it's genetics, their diets or they don't like deodorant, but they really do have a strong odour.

reply

I’d just like to apologise - it was me. In a wig. And a dress.

reply

I was waiting for you to confess.

reply

Sluuurp! Munch! Lick! Smack! Burp!

reply

It works on most guys.

reply

You a bad boy!😱

reply

Watch out! Next time you’re in a cinema.....in the dark, lol.

reply

you looked great.

reply

It worked. He moved. More room for me. Slurp!

reply

It's rude of you to pay for a movie like angel has fallen, they might make a fourth one because of people like you.

reply

No, you suffer from misophonia like me. I move all the time. People are disgusting and inconsiderate with their food. I almost stopped going to movies after one father and son duo would not stop diving in their stiff, crinkly bag of candy every few seconds. Take a handful and put the bag away! So loud. I missed hearing some dialogue.

reply

I love day sessions where it's almost empty. My bliss.

reply

Nope. I don't even go to those things anymore. Too much noise and too many little lights around from cell phones being used. Not to mention the fact that they don't really make decent movies anymore and you have to sit through 40 minutes of advertisements before they even begin.
