Does your username mean anything?

Mine is taken from A Song of Ice and Fire books.

Mine hails from the days when I was a fan of "American Girls." It's a book and doll company that encouraged girls to learn about American history, as well as learning about friendship and growing up. I was 26 when I made the username.

Frogs and Futurama

reply

Nice. It sounds like a serious frog party of some sort.

reply

Or a frog theme park!

Perhaps even a frog fighting style...

A lot of kicks.

reply

Oh I want to see a frog-style fight!

Mine is very loosely based on D.B.Cooper because I had a documentary on the tv about him when I signed up here. Since then, I've had a few wtf moments when I forgot that I had CSI on in the background which contains a character known as D.B. Russell and someone says something like, "Hey, D.B...." The people that know me here just refer to me as db, which I'm very comfortable with.

reply

I figured it had something to do with D.B. Cooper. That's a fascinating story. I love history, especially crime history. Crime history mysteries are a delight.

reply

I watched another documentary just a few days ago which presented a very plausible theory about his identity.

reply

What's the title?

reply

I'll see if I can track it down.

reply

I once binge watched a program titled Mafia Hits on The History Channel which chronicled the inception and evolution of the mob. It was fascinating stuff.

reply

Mine's a Celtic mythological soul stealing fairy cat.

reply

That is really cool

reply

Thank you! :)

I always wondered about your name. I like 😽

Prelude in C maj is one of my favorite pieces by J.S Bach.

It's really hard trying to think of names when you first join somewhere and get asked to create a screen name - I think I was listening to this a lot at the time and just went with it.

reply

I really like your name.

reply

Mine's a homage to Vera Lynn singing at the end of Dr Strangelove

reply

Oh yeah, that's great. Kubrick is like a god to me so anything from his movies tickles me. This thread is really interesting to me. The different ways people come up with their names, or random letter gram or whatever, it all speaks to the personality of the user. Very interesting.

alien: Because I like some movie aliens and I feel kinda alien in human society.

salmon: I'll admit it's one of my favorite fish to eat.

reply

I kinda pictured a salmon that could just live in space.

Yes, but it wasn't my first choice.. I would have picked "MortSahlFan", but many more seem to know Bill Hicks, and its a way to let others know about your taste without posting a thing.
