Directors you've seen every movie of and liked them all.

Mine are:

Paul Thomas Anderson
Denis Villeneuve
Krzysztof Kieslowski
James Cameron

reply

I can't think of one. Cameron comes closest, only because True Lies has grown on me. I don't love it, though.

reply

Vittorio De Sica
Robert Bresson
John Cassavetes (except "Killing of a Chinese Bookie")

reply

I haven't seen all of Bresson's films, but I've like all the ones I've seen.

reply

The only ones of his I haven't seen is his first, and "Lancelot" (can't get into medieval stuff).. The rest are all all good-great.

reply

Is there a minimum number of films required?

reply

Four, I'd say.

reply

Stanley Kubrick
David Lynch
Michael Haneke
Darren Aronofsky
Lars Von Trier
Yorgos Lanthimos

reply

Aronofsky is an interesting candidate. Seems like you either like him or you don't.

reply

'Bit luke warm on Noah, but other than that, great stuff. Right, if you're a puritanical navel-gazer, you're probably not going to like Aronofsky too terribly much. I don't know, maybe start there...

reply

I really wanted to say Aronofsky but Noah made me pause.

reply

Totally understand, but I give him a pass about Noah because my hunch is he agreed to do the film because he needed to raise the money to so the film he really wanted to do, which we now know was Mother! And itโ€™s not really THAT bad, so...

reply

Hayao Miyazaki.

reply

Good mention of Kieslowski. I like his Tres Coleurs (or whatever it's called) but I don't know anything else.

reply

Trois couleurs (Three colours). Tres couleurs roughly translates to very colourful.

reply

Andrew Dominik
