What's been the best day or days of your life?

Day before yesterday I think may well have been the best day of my entire life! I don't remember ever feeling so HAPPY!

I love my new place, I love my friendly, welcoming new neighbourhood, and at long last I have my new pup, and we are a perfect match, so I have family again!!! That's huge.

On top of that, and equally huge if not bigger, I had some unexpected and wonderful news about a beloved friend I've been worried about. ELATION!

Yesterday, not so much, but in the bigger scheme of things, I've realised that was small potatoes.

I tried to think of times in my life where I felt better or equal to how I felt the other day, and at least for now, I can't think of any.

What was the happiest day of your life, or the happiest dayS you can think of?

reply

I am uncertain, off the top of my head, but I have to post right now to announce to the world how happy I am for YOU, Catbookss!!! You have endured a LOT of challenging obstacles recently, and you are a truly GOOD person and have deserved better, and you are receiving it. God bless you, my friend. Enjoy! I, for one, feel that you deserve it. Indulge yourself in some Eva Cassidy.

reply

Aw, I thank you, my friend, from my heart. That means a lot to me. It has been damned sucky for me for many years. The good part is by contrast, finally being happy again, and I really do think it's the happiest I've ever been, makes it even MORE amazing!

I have to say, listening to Eva Cassidy, whom I'd never heard of before your mentioning her, was a peak experience in my life.

Best days ever...

My wedding day was pretty legendary...everyone was wasted and me and Mrs Shogun secretly ordered a limo beforehand...we were tanning in the Yucatan before my drunken buddies even woke up...We call that the 'Irish Goodbye...'
In North Yonkers you do not say 'Goodbye' you just split...that is the class way to bounce in North Yonkers

Saw a monkey and a scary scorpion in the forest by some ancient Mayan ruins!
Pretty awesome day and then we went for a swim in a jungle river

The birth of my two children...10 and a half months apart...'Irish Twins' they call it
The first baby Doc told me to stay away from my lady for at least 6 weeks after the birth...I really tried but I called shenanigans on that very quickly

The second baby Doc was astonished at my marksmanship

Two days for me. The day I graduated Army basic training and the day my daughter was born. I really struggled with basic training because I was overweight and very out of shape. There where times when I thought for sure I wasn't going to make it. But I did. I lost the weight and passed the physical fitness test. During the graduation ceremony our commander told us that we earned the right to be called professional soldiers. I was ecstatic! Of course my daughter being born was a very happy event but especially because she almost died during child birth. That was scary! But now she is an awesome adult and I couldn't be any more proud of her.

When my youngest son graduated from Army basic training, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I still get goose bumps when I think about it. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. And thank you to your family for their sacrifices, too!

Congratulations on raising your daughter well! Such a great post!

Never had a best day ever. But the best years of my life were 1995-1998. Pretty much been all down hill since then.

Becoming a father - especially poignant as we were only able to have one child.
