Hannah Barbara introduced semi-animation (e. g., Fred Flintstone's body remains static, and the animator only works with his head) to cartoons, and bastardized the artform. It was like McDonald's selling Kobe beef: the art was sacrificed in service to the tasteless. Moreover, The Flintstones was a complete ripoff of Jackie Gleason's "Honeymooners" skits on The Jackie Gleason Show. It's a wonder that Fred never said to Wilma, "One of these days, Wilma, one of the days--BANG! Right in the kisser!" H/B attorneys probably told these thieves that they would not beat a plagiarism lawsuit if they went that far.

My scorn for Hannah Barbara knows no bounds.

Rocky and Bullwinkle, although also semi-animated, was entirely original and entirely inspired, budget constraints notwithstanding. "We are making big trouble for moose and squirrel!" Jay Ward was a TV show genius on the same level as Rod Serling.
