shareInteresting coincidence. I happened to accidentally stumble onto a previously unknown film of his yesterday, Best Seller, in which he co-stars with Brian Dennehy and which I decided to watch. An interesting pairing of these two actors. I agree that he's good and I've also enjoyed several of his performances.
I remember reading years ago that he supposedly had an I.Q. of around 160, which is definitely genius range and of which I'm aware has contributed to his controversial reputation.

shareMy understanding is that he dropped out of MIT in order to pursue acting. It takes a good amount of grey matter just to get accepted by MIT and his intellectual prowess does seem to come across in some of his performances.
Yes, his career displays a consistency. I also remember him in a remake of The Getaway and Carpenter's Vampires. We discussed The General's Daughter awhile back. I actually thought his was one of the better performances in that film.

I didn't realise he was 70. Where does the time go?

Yes it is, but he's old, and deserves a rest. One fine actor there.
