MovieChat Is Due For A-Remold

Left! Left! Left-right-left!

I have made a decision on what needs to change on MovieChat.

1. Stop using General Discussion. Everyone will head to boards like “Country” or “Blu-ray Hi-Def Equipment”.
2. No one leave General Discussion. This is the only board with any activity.
3. Stop posting about film. We will all be posting suggestions on how to improve MovieChat. This is the only way to enact active change!
4. Everyone is required to post at least one thread per week on how MovieChat is going downhill.
5. Stop posting Off Topics. This is very important, because I calculated that if I eat at “Happy” everyday, what is life even about.
6. Stop having fun. The Moderators will step in at the first sign of posters enjoying themselves. This site is about serious discussion on how to improve this site.
7. No more Search bar. Users will follow a chain of seemingly unrelated links in order to work for getting whatever they’re looking for.
8. All discussions are hereby proclaimed fights.
9. All fights will go in circles ad infinitum.
10. Everyone will get a free coupon for their favourite fast food joint/smoothie place/crack den for their birthday.

This is my list. There are many like it but this one is mine. My list is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my list is useless. Without my list I am useless. I must compile my list true. I must write straighter than my enemy, who is trying to [thread closed]. I must derail him before he derails me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my list and myself are defenders of MovieChat, we are the masters of my enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

#1 and #2 conflict with each other.

#3 would only be on boards that specifically discuss film

#4 It is going downhill, as written numerous times by many different members on here, because of the highly unorganized state this site is in

#5 You cannot be off topic in general discussion

#6 Who honestly has fun on here? I come on here to maybe write about movies that I like and make suggestions. This is not a jungle gym by any means. Unless you seriously have fun, behind a computer and writing things to people who most will never see in real life, I would find alternatives.

#7 Debates always make things way better. Better than "playing word games" and other crap we have on here.

#10 That would be pretty awesome; however, this site is failing to pay for itself and we see it through the ads. How would Jim even be able to afford that?

Overall, I would say maybe 6.25% of your suggestions may work.

You don't think these make any sense? Hmm... interesting.

As for the "word games", are you referring to the Guessing Games in the "Games: Trivia and Quiz Games" board of this site designated for games? If so, I'm sure the Mods would move them, because they're A) Fun, and fun is no longer allowed as per my decision and B) In the most appropriate place for them.

Also, I am actively changing the site!

#5- Arvin said you can't be off topic in GD but what was his biggest gripe?
He actually got that 1 and 2 contradict each other but still missed the point.
He only commented on the ones he understood.
Totally missed the rest. lol

He used the word "debates" Did he even have a even have a dictionary?
He loved #10. The thought of free food often does that to people.
Do you think that was part of the 6.25%?

Do you think he used a calculator to get 6.25%? That's a pretty specific number.

Arvin couldn't wrap his head around personal libraries..., I doubt he had a dictionary, or bothered to do the maths.

I think he liked my suggestions, he was just salty that they were better than his!

I did actively change the site!

BTW, with both you _and_ Dazed deleting your replies here, I look like a crazy person, talking to myself. lol

I feel fortunate as I have three in my group...me, myself and I. The id, the ego and the superego. I’ve always had someone listening to me. Now I have another one who answers or gives comments to our discussions. Makes for a lively debate! My granddaughter recently shared a motel room with me during a trip. I inquired “How did you sleep?” Her answer: “I didn’t because you talked all night long in your sleep!”
