Any Great (but unknown) Movies on YouTube?

It seems a lot of people are frustrated (understandably so) with today's film industry.... I'm wondering if there are any amazing movies, made by talented people, some who are too talented for the industry, but haven't had much success because of lack of funds for advertising, etc.,...

Something great though, I wouldn't wanna watch a movie out of charity, or something just decent because it's better than what's at the theater -- I think there are probably a handful of people on this forum who could make better movies.

I miss a great screenplay the most... I don't need weirdness, or CGI, twists and turns, underwater cameras, funny angles - I find that condescending, actually.

The Changeling (1980) with George C Scott - a great ghost story

I second The Changeling. While there are a few hokey bits, and I wasn't exactly wild about the ending, Scott did an outstanding job and his part was well written.

I can’t recall The Haunting (1963) so I’ll look it up.
I probably haven’t seen The Fog since the 80’s when I was a kid. I’d like to revisit that and Salem’s Lot. I actually prefer the 1989 The Woman in Black over the remake. Have you seen it?

As far as ghost stories go, besides The Woman in Black (1989), these are a few I really like:
Burnt Offerings (1976)
Carnival of Souls (1962)

I saw the 1989 version of TWIB when it was first shown, and I rewatched it on YouTube a few years back. The 1979 version of Salem's Lot is my all-time favourite vampire movie. I watched it when it was first shown and had trouble sleeping for weeks! Good call on carnival of Souls 👍 It's ultra-low budget but creepy as ****. Candace Hilligoss was pretty hot too. I don't think I've seen Shock. I'll have to look that one up.

Shock is one of Mario Bava’s last films and has a great cast. If your a fan at all of Italian horror it will definitely be one to check out.

Yeah, I remember the scene in Salem’s Lot vividly when I was a kid of some guy getting caught in bed with another dudes wife. The husband runs him out the house with a shot gun and as he’s crossing the yard he gets jumped by a vampire and it freeze frames to commercial. Somehow that scene stuck with me more than the kid at the window. I need to watch that one again soon too.

That's right! The scenes that got me (also more than the kid at the window) were Mike Ryerson in the rocking chair ("Look at me, teacher!"), Marjorie Glick 'waking up' in the morgue, and the vampires crawling across the cellar floor, creeping up on the kid who was helping David Soul. Nightmare stuff!

"The Savage Is Loose" had only 233 ratings on IMDB... I found it after seeing Trish Van Dere is a fine movie "One Is The Loneliest Number", and then heard she was married to George C. Scott, and I've always liked him as an actor.

It's a movie about a family, but if I had a family, I wouldn't watch it with them.

Yeah, there was one about this loser who thought calling strangers at random to ask them stupid questions for his amusement was fun. It turned out to be monumentally stupid and mindless.

I watched "Black Sunday" (1976?) on YouTube a few years ago. I think I had to pay, but I couldn't find it anywhere else. Good film.

I saw "Two-Minute" warning, and someone said both movies were very similar. I think they were released in the same year.
