What's the most scary movie of all time?

For me it has to be the ORIGINAL Blair Witch Project. Saw that when I was just a kid and couldn't sleep for weeks after. Also, to this day, I've never been camping solely because of that movie.

The premise is solid, but, the inclusion of the young & "normal" little children ruin it.

reply

It WAS a solid scary one but damn the SFX at the end sort of ruined the mood

The Grudge in an empty theatre was nuts. That damn sound they used made it crazy. And the chic doing the crab walk.

BW was freaky in the theatre as well.

I'm surprised the timestamp says this thread is already 4 years old.

reply

It’s a good one to resurrect.

reply

But why does it say it's 4 years old???

Do you think it’s rounding up? When was MC created?

February 2017

Threads - I still get night terrors now.

reply

I still haven’t seen this one yet but as a kid I did have the nuke fear. I need to check it out.

reply

Honestly, it makes The Day After look like a tea party.

reply

Damn. After I watch it I’ll let you know then.

Is it true that it was so scary that it has never been repeated? I remember it vaguely, a guy playing with Star Wars figures whilst it looked like the Blitz around him, and that the government warning was reused on Two Tribes by Frankie Goes To Hollywood!

I had a scary experience with a movie just a couple of nights ago. I put on The Touch of Satan (1971) and fell asleep half way through. I had a horrible nightmare about it where I felt half asleep while it was still playing. I woke myself up and turned it off and haven’t tried to rewatch it yet. I have no idea if it’s even that scary but it was really weird.

reply

Best not to mess with that kind of juju.

reply

I’m feeling weird ever since. Lol

Blair witch is probably the second scariest for me. I still get chills when I think of certain scenes.
The original poltergeist is the scariest.
