Good thing I don't put much stock in the opinions of the Motion Picture Academy. Their sense of taste in films has mostly been horrible for over 100 years, and their awards ceremony is little more than a chance to glorify themselves. Since they love giving awards to boring or bad films, I suspect that with these new rules, they will have a hard time choosing from the plethora of crap that's going to result from that.

shareNo, it means movies like The Godfather and Gladiator are OUT. It is questionable if Schindler's List would be out, too. So, no more well done period pieces will be made if it can't be Oscar material.
shareA movie only has to meet 2 out of the 4 standards. Standard A may be tough for certain movies(depending on the subject), but B, C, and D, should be fairly straight forward since they deal with behind the scenes crew members. It would be damned hard for a movie to not accidentally meet standard B, as probably no movie in history has had nothing but straight white males doing hair, makeup, sets, costume design, etc.

I took a film class at a community college a few years back and they’re was one black person and he was always late. Also, no one said the races are equally attractive and since Hollywood can legally hire on looks which they do (Am I right fellas?) it is perfectly reasonable that the races are not equally represented. In fact saying something like Italian women are cute or Asian women are hot ( which even the Liberal infested Playboy has done) is in fact a racist statement because they would not say that if there was no disparage. If you compare two cars which are exactly the same (to tenth decimal spot in mpg) but styling the better looking car is the superior car.

Remember when storytelling movies like Titanic and The Departed won? It's such a shame they have chosen to go down this path that now everything has to be political. Could be some people in the Academy are pissed over Jamie Lee winning over Angela Bassett and her costar Stephanie Hsu.

Probably a lot, if you factor in the entire production crew and distribution like the link does. The actual movie is period piece, so of course the main cast wouldn't be.
