Who is most to blame for the prevalence of identity politics today?

The type of politics you hear the most about today is identity politics and issues related to it. From affirmative action and reparations to LGBTQ+ rights and white nationalism, most people today are concerned with issues related to one's identity, be it sex, gender, race, ethnicity, color, sexual orientation, and so on.

I'd like to hear your thoughts as to who most is to blame for this prevalence of identity politics.

reply

Global elitists like Soros, who are paying the bills to get it done.

reply

I'd agree, with the additional backing of China. It's a divide and conquer strategy. Identity politics creates nothing but hate and resentment and division. What better way to weaken and eventually destroy a country than to make everyone in it hate each other and feel shame at their nation's history?

American Leftists are burning the flag and marching in anger in the street. Meanwhile the Chinese are united in patriotism and watching pro-China propaganda.

reply

Same as it ever was (and it's not a bad thing, really). Just chill.

reply

I guess so. I realize they are very much important but we also must not neglect other issues such as the economy and existential risks like climate change and whatnot.

reply

Hard times make strong people.
Strong people make easy times.
Easy times make weak people.
Weak people make hard times.

Welcome to the easy times, when people are weak, spoiled and entitled, and don't care about hard work, accomplishments, or responsibility anymore. What they care about is pride, popularity, and whatever else comforts their loserness. Identity politics is an especially popular shortcut for those things because it provides pride for who you are and not what you do, and so does not require any hard work, and its shortages can be blamed on somebody else.

So who is most to blame for the prevalence of identity politics today? WEAK PEOPLE. It could be minorities who are told not to work hard or to cope. Or it could be everybody in this generation as a whole.

reply

Liberals and their incessant need to create new generations of victims.

reply

There's no bigger victim on here than you. Can't make a statement that doesn't contain the word "liberal" or some form of it. They "live rent-free inside your head," as you folks like to express it.

reply

You're projecting. I'm not a fucking victim. I'm white, male and straight, no opportunity to be a victim. I have the "privilege" of accountability. Sick and tired of liberal lies and the destruction of a country I love.

reply

Lol. Your mango mussolini cries victim all the time, when he's not spouting other lies:

“To be clear about how Trump is to blame, or at least partially to blame, for what happened: The U.S. Department of Transportation under Donald Trump … back in December 2017 … announced intent to repeal electronically controlled pneumatic brake mandate,” Doel said. “These are the ECP brakes that would have been on this train in East Palestine that derailed if it weren’t for this deregulation.”

reply

Man, you shit heads are REALLY obsessed with Trump! It's hilarious. He truly does live rent-free in your heads and there's literally room for nothing else.

reply

Not obsessed, but isn't he the leader of your party? Or at least the frontrunner for the 2024 nomination? It's just American politics, to publicise goofs made by the leader of the opposite party whenever possible. Now you guys are obsessed with a mere cabinet member. You break into a frothing rage whenever the transportation secretary is mentioned!

reply

There you go judging others by yourself again. Desantis has my vote and is my preference over Trump. Who cares? You assholes have been obsessing about Trump for at least six years.

Yes, we have an issue with cabinet members who are appointed because they check a certain box, rather than their qualifications. Especially when there is currently an ongoing disaster that falls into his lap. Why you giving the queer in charge a pass while blaming a former president? You people have no clue how deranged you really sound.

reply

Queer? You are blocked.

reply

Snowflake much? 🤣🤣🤣

Not my word, dummy. What the fuck you think the "Q" in LGBTQ stands for?

reply

They derive all their perceived power by being the victim, so they assume you desire the same thing.

Nothing more than basic solipsism.

They're like that about everything. They judge others by themselves on every issue. Which tells us a lot about them and their severe intellectual limitations.

reply

LMAO, you got blocked for saying "queer"!!

I guess it's only okay when they use it.

Women in Universities. The Gender Studies Brigade.

reply

The blame most likely lies with those that had the most to gain by breaking up the Occupy Movement.

That's a thoughtful take. For a brief moment, regular working folks had people asking questions about global elites and elites didn't like the questions one bit. Reminds me of that old robber baron quote, "I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half."

reply

Exactly. I live a blue shithole state, but where I reside is essentially nowhere significant, and Occupy managed to reach my place of business's parking lot in 2011. A few of us joined them for a few miles. I met a lot of great people.

It's such a shame it was that easy to break up the movement with a sprinkle if IdPol.

I think the nastiness of political discourse could be traced back to MSNBC during the Bush years. As far as who's too blame for how bad identity politics have become I blame Obama.

reply

Bleeding heart liberal Democrats.

They have been using color as a prerequisite for years in affirmative action.

100 cops take a police exam.
No longer are the top grades taken...

Because of affirmative action they have to tell some candidates who scored better than others that they cannot be accepted because they have offer diversity.
So they pass by a more skilled more intelligent candidate and put in someone who scored worse because they have a certain skin color.

Colleges can no longer accept the bes and brightest..they are told they have to accept a certain % of non whites.

So they scramble to accept people with much lower grades in order to offer diversity.

This is done in politics, in policing, doctors.

People with less skill put into positions to offer diversity...
