POLITICO Playbook: Trump lawyers provide new info but no warrant

There's a reason Trump won't release the warrant!

https://www.politico.com/newsletters/playbook/2022/08/10/trump-lawyers-provide-new-info-but-no-warrant-00050778

WHERE’S THE WARRANT? — It’s been two days since the FBI searched DONALD TRUMP’s Florida home, spurring loud calls for transparency at Justice. But Trump’s lawyers have the warrant and a detailed manifest of what the FBI took away. Why haven’t they been released? We asked Trump lawyer CHRISTINA BOBB, who was at Mar-a-Lago during the search, and will report back what we hear.

Extremely ugly in online fringes: “In the minutes after news of the search broke, users on pro-Trump forums like TheDonald, a Reddit-like website that was used to provide logistics before the Capitol riot, urged immediate violence, asking questions like ‘When does the shooting start?’ and calling upon Trump to summon militias,” report NBC News’ Ben Collins and Ryan Reilly. “The most popular comment responding to the news, upvoted over 1,200 times, was simply the words ‘lock and load.’”

reply

Who are those idiots going to shoot?

Everyone in sight?

reply

Maybe lying leftist idiots? But, then it’s only words. I say those words frequently: “Hey! It’s time to lock and load!” Just a figure of speech. Crazies who are planning such a heinous crime don’t usually verbalize it, but it’s idiotic to be saying it on social media sites. Why? The Feds can trace your damn ISP address!

reply

Just a figure of speech? Like January 6th?

reply

Yep! Lock n Load! Your ignorance truly astounds me! (and your insanity!)

reply

So you're going to go door to door looking for lying leftists?

Pretty insane.., better log off now

reply

You got it! 👏🏻👏🏻 I don’t have to look for lying leftists. They stick out like thorns on a rose bush! The first door I’ll knock on will be yours! 🤭

reply

With a gun?

reply

Probably just a water pistol. Do they still sell those? If not don’t leave your hose with a pistol grip sprayer outside. It would be too tempting! 🤭

reply

Those crazies usually have "handlers".

reply

What type of handlers?

Live coverage of AG Garland who approved warrant: https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-62513268

reply

Key points from Garland statement
Here's what we've learned:

The US attorney general confirmed he personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant of Donald Trump's Florida residence, in what were his first public remarks on the search
Merrick Garland said the Department of Justice - which he leads - had asked a federal court to unseal the warrant
Garland said the department does much of its work outside of the public eye, but Trump's comments about the FBI search of his home partially drove his decision to publicly confirm the status of the investigation
The attorney general said he would not "stand by" while the department and the FBI face criticism over the search by Trump and his allies

reply

He owed us a lot more. They stormed the residence of a former president and arguably a contender for 2024. This was and remains a gambit of historic implications as the singular time such an event has ever occurred in the history of the executive branch. His decision opens Pandora’s Box for retribution by Republicans when they gain power which will then be the subject of reprisal by the subsequent Democratic administration which exponentially increases the risk for peaceful transitions of the presidency. He should never ever have made a decision of this magnitude on his own. The Justice Department surely has written rules for executing politically sensitive warrants particularly close to an election. He should have explained the ways in which his decision comported with those long standing rules to calm people’s fear that the FBI has become corruptly politicized. He acts like the public trust in the DOJ and FBI was not previously immolated by the last highly sensitive warrant applications they handled for the FISA Carter Page surveillance. He is too casual in the implications of what he has done and acts like he was executing a warrant on a family practice doctor accused of peddling oxycodone.

reply

They didn't storm anything you liar. They issued subpoenas, they called to say they were coming, they knocked on the door and were let in.

reply

Yes right, they issued subpoenas. I think one of the guys with an AR-15 was a notary public. You definitely know what’s going on to be calling people liars. Razor sharp on this

reply

Oh good grief! I’ve said “When does the shooting start?” and “Lock n Load” They’re figures of speech when people are frustrated. I’ve said those comments in conversations then went on to something else. As far as I’m concerned they are innocuous comments. As I replied to insane yatzo people who state those comments online are letting off steam. The ones to be concerned about are mostly loners. They keep their crazed planned heinous deeds to themselves.

NBC News’ Ben Collins, Ryan Reilly and those on this board are making a mountain out of a molehill. Y'all are being irrational!🙄

reply

Shooting started today, an attack on an FBI office in Ohio. Do you have any clever response to that.

reply

I haven't heard from Lil' Craigy for a bit . . . was he involved?

reply

Well, my “clever response” is stupid is as stupid does! A first class idiot who won’t be breathing air any longer. You play the devil’s game, you have a price to pay.

reply

Shooting started today, a Trump nut trying to kill at an FBI office in Ohio.

reply

Just like the Biden nut who tried to kill a SCOTUS justice.

reply

No, it's not just like that

reply

Just like the Bernie Sanders nut who opened fire on Republicans during a Congressional baseball game? The Sanders nut almost murdered Rep. Steve Scalise and wounded several other Republicans.

“Gunman who shot Republicans was Sanders fan, had run-ins with law”

https://news.yahoo.com/shooter-republicans-sanders-fan-had-run-ins-law-184220528.html

“The other people shot include the gunman, Capitol Police Special Agent Crystal Griner, lobbyist Matt Mika and Zack Barth, a staffer for Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas.”

”Democratic Rep. Linda Sanchez drew some high heat for flashing a crude hand gesture at her Republican colleagues during Thursday night’s Congressional Baseball Game — giving the GOP dugout the middle finger after she was pulled for a pinch-runner.”

https://nypost.com/2022/07/29/rep-linda-sanchez-flips-off-gop-dugout-at-congressional-baseball-game/

The Dems have such nice people in their camp.🙄

reply

Have you ever heard Bernie Sander encourage any of his supporters to commit acts of violence against their political opponents? No.
Have you ever heard a democratic politician make excuses for the guy who fired upon Steve Scalise or say anything about that guy other to condemn him and his violent act? No.
Do you hear the term "locked and loaded," coming from democrats and liberals? No.
Do, shove your whataboutisms.

reply

I just learned what weapon he used! I’m asking the same question Satan2016 inquired about as it’s a very important question. If so, we do need to ban them! Damn! There seems to be no end to the weapons used! Next it will be rubber bands shooting spit balls!

” Was this a fully automatic assault nail gun? Time to ban them!”

reply

The warrant is under seal. It cannot be released unless and until the court unseals it.
