Here is just a sample of the demands:
-The hiring of twelve (!) full time diversity officers
-An additional full time employee whose "entire role is to support Black students who come forward with complaints."
-Hiring of multiple psychologists with "specialization on the psychological issues affecting ethnic minority populations."
-Pay off student debt of incoming black faculty
-Re-route 50% of all donations to NYC public schools
-Elimination of AP courses if black students don't score as high as white
-Required courses on "Black liberation"
-Reduced tuition for black students whose photographs appear in school promotional materials
-Public "anti-racism" statements required from all employees
-Mandatory "Community and Diversity Days" to be held "throughout the year"
-Required anti-bias training to be conducted every year for all staff and parent volunteers
-Mandatory minority representation in (otherwise elected) student leadership roles
-Mandatory diversity plot lines in school plays
-Overhaul of entire curriculum to reflect diversity narratives

How about just treating blacks or everyone as equals instead of equity of outcome? Blacks only make 13% of the population yet the left want to treat them like they're 50%+ with the way they're doing things these days. Give blacks opportunities, stop marginalizing them, stuff like that. I kinda blame some whites for still perpetuating this shit which is why the left has gone full 'woke' crap.

A better idea is to find out how to end racism and white supremacy.

As long as those particular 'southern' white folk are still around, I don't think it'll ever end, just evolved. It's skin/root deep. There is a slow change though, they're recruiting blacks to be on their behalf. I think you would call them house niggas back in the day where if you work for the plantation inside the house, you get more rights, freedoms, and opportunities as long as you pull the ladder up behind you.

Racism and white supremacy are not limited to a region. They're institutional and apply to the entire country. They include other racial/ethnic groups who can be both the oppressor and oppressed.

Younger people are less bigoted than older people, but let's see how long that lasts.

You can't fix a problem unless you acknowledge there is a problem and then formulate a plan to fix it.

I have other Scottish ancestors who after the Jacobite Rebellion were sold as slaves in Maryland and Virginia

The craziest part was paying off the student debt of black faculty. I'm in my forties so I was brought up with MLK's colorblind approach to racial issues but that's fallen out of favor. I definitely think there should be equality of opportunity but I don't approve of mandatory equality of outcomes. That Vonnegut link was outstanding and I'm impressed with his foresight.

After reading your link to a snippet of Kurt Vonnegut’s book...I’m at a loss for words. Other than to say we are so close to being there. I’m chilled because this has been occurring for the last 20 years. Not as draconian, but shades of it. I recall reading an article in the newspaper (Newspapers?) about an elementary school in Florida which did it’s best to educate, another bygone word. The classes competed to be the best. Those which aced were rewarded with a pizza party. Fair enough, right? We’ve always had competition, winners and losers. Those who lost tried better the next time.

But, this particular year brought an end to the competitions and the reward of pizza parties. Why? Because some of those who lost parents cried “It’s not fair! It’s not fair her little Susie is smarter than my little Jimmy! They should be treated EQUALLY! The competitions were halted which resulted in no more pizza parties. Nothing to strive for began the dumbing down of America. Some schools are eliminating Valedictorian’s and Salutatorian’s honors.

Yes, Vonnegut‘s words chilled me as I didn’t think we could be living in a worse society than the one we are on the brink of having...an Orwellian society. Almost there...
