reply

Valid point. But we sure as hell don't want to replace them with rump cronies ! Jeebus kryst !
My mind is boggled at the thought rumpism could take over this proud Democracy.

reply

Nothing more than swamp rats.

reply

Return of the White and Old Swamp Things. Once again, dem hypocrisy on full display.

reply

They are not hypocrits, they are gullible and naive.

reply

Ol screwdriver Joe sends the negro to then back of the bus for another 4 years. Shocker.

reply

Yeah but they're nearly all the same old people mostly from the Obama administration... THE REASON WHY TRUMP WON OR ROSE TO POWER! Did they not learn anything?

reply

Yes, if you want to understand all of this, read Thomas Frank's book, "The Wrecking Crew". It is amazing and explains Republican behavior in every detail.

reply

Beginning in the late 1970s, the rich and large corporations pushbacked from policies which had helped average Americans. A similar book, "Evil Geniuses: The Unmaking of America: A Recent History" by Kurt Andersen discusses in detail how the Republican Party, institutions, legislation, right-wing media, and universities became a part of the plan by the rich to become richer and more powerful while impoverishing everyone else.

reply

Wait ! I thought this was about the 1960s Los Angeles group of studio musicians, including Glen Campbell and Hal Blaine.

"Amazon, Cancel my order !"

The Wrecking Crew: How Conservatives Rule

From Wikipedia:
The Wrecking Crew: How Conservatives Rule (August 2008) is a book written by American journalist and historian Thomas Frank, which explores the contemporary state of conservative Washington, D.C.
Frank summarized the message of his book: "Bad government is the natural product of rule by those who believe government is bad." [1]

Frank argues that certain elements of the Republican party intentionally dismantled the government by many means, including turning public policy into a private-sector feeding frenzy. Frank describes the current state of Federal government of the United States as analogous to a large group of privatized pigs feeding at the public trough, which was brought on by the privatization schemes engineered by the Republicans.

This is a truly brilliant book, and is different from all other political non-fiction works that I have read in that it has just gotten more true and more relevant over time.

reply

Experienced and competent.

Trump made a mess of the economy, destroyed the American way of life and millions sick with an out of control virus and ongoing carnage.

It's a relief to know that Biden and his nominees will know how to fix Trump's mess on day one.

reply

It's so refreshing to get the professionalism back into the WH.

reply

not openly corrupt politicians? refreshing?

reply

Openly corrupt pols are not more refreshing than old school pols.
Fast-tracking corruption isn't more acceptable than old school chipping away.
With old school, at least we get a chance to fight back, propose reform and change.
Not watching civil liberties stripped away at blinding speed by pubs who care more about corporate profits than what our citizens have fought and died and hoped for.
