Why do Trump supporters hate Obamacare?

This has always baffled me.

Most Trump people NEED a helping hand from the government when it comes to health insurance.

It is amazing to me how people can be convinced to go for something against their own economic self interest.

Oh not Obamagate OK

reply

They're jealous of Obama. Simple as that.

Trump supporters do not hate Obamacare. That's why Mitch won't schedule a vote to repeal it (even though the GOP House voted to do so every week when Obama was President.)

Free Shit Army strong with wigguhnation.

Because it raised insurance premiums 500%. Because it was purposely designed to cause the system to collapse. Because it’s a stepping stone to single-payer which will be government healthcare. Single payer is all about the government getting more control. Because we already know that everything the govt runs costs 100x more that it should and lacks productivity.

Free market competition is what generates productively and wealth. Not government, not socialism, not communism. If those worked people would be flying to China and Venezuela and Cuba for healthcare procedures. They don’t. They come to the US because despite Obamacare we still have the best healthcare in the world.

reply

Mitch also won't be voting to repeal Medicare.

3 years in, Obamacare is still active, why? They hold the senate and still no replacement? Hmm hmm. Food for thought.

reply

Trump supporters are stupid.

They hate Obamacare, but love the Affordable Care Act. After they were told it's the same thing, they pleaded with their Republican representatives to keep it. Republicans have watered it down in red states, anyway.

A lot of their ignorance has to do with exclusively watching right-wing programs like Fox which purposely keeps them ignorant with misinformation and propaganda. A doctor wrote a book about how policies they support have shortened their lives.

I love when they were telling reporters "Get rid of Obamacare, but don't take the Affordable Care Act away!"

What idiots!

Repubs have been relatively quiet over Obamacare the last three years. The attacks were incessant while Obama was in office, but ever since he left the repubs know they can't just go back to the old system. It's like the old adage you don't know what you've got until it's gone. If repubs take away Obamacare from millions of people by going back to the old system, those millions may vote democrat. This is why Trump has been so hesitant to repeal it. He's been sitting and waiting for a replacement that at least does the same job. But as usual, repubs have nothing to offer.

I'm baffled as well. You can show video and transcripts of everything The Tramp has lied about, to Trump supporters, and they will still deny it. I will have no problem whatsoever dropping Trump supporters if he refuses to step down from office. V for Vendetta got the virus right, maybe the civil war too.

Democrats are more likely to be on welfare than Republicans. The rich, liberal ruling class turds no one likes are only a tiny percentage of the Democrat vote.

That said, it's in most people's economic and health interest, regardless of income, to vote against Obamacare. It especially squeezes and disrupts the middle class and small businesses. It's telling how much of those insane mountains of regulations Trump had to cut through during the Chinese virus crisis just to give locals enough flexibility to do basic, common sense stuff like testing.

Of course those who don't completely ignore the decisive empirical verdict of the past 100 years of history know it's against most people's interest to vote left wing in general, unless you like jobs killed, opportunities stifled, lousy consumer choice, high crime, and permanently living as a peasant class on a plantation trapped by intergenerational dependence on government welfare.

I'm in the middle.

I hate lies.

I hate liars.

I hate insurance at the barrel of a gun.

I'm not a Republican.
