I answered this question in a similar post:- https://moviechat.org/tt7631058/The-Lord-of-the-Rings-The-Rings-of-Power/630f94897d161071cc66e47d/Please-dont-tell-me-theres-going-to-be-homo-hobbits-gay-elves-and-same-sex-married-couples-in-this-show?reply=632f8996b08c5c0f139d7360 Is there a gay storyline in this? Of course, there will be, "Amazon Prime Video" did it to "The Wheel of Time" (and ruined it). I believe the show creators are planning to include it in the upcoming seasons (if there are any). They already received many negative reviews, dislikes, and criticisms for this season because of their "Woke Agenda". They will not risk upsetting more Tolkien fans by including unnecessary gay stories in the S1. I didn't know about this, thank you, I am a fan of Youtubers and influencers who defend Tolkien's legacy. According to Nerdotic, they're planning to https://youtu.be/c2xwrqVn_SI?t=288 https://youtu.be/XIXsrEn144I?t=786 https://youtu.be/IIT2KSbDIps?t=333 Actually, there is a video where Nerdotic speaks about a (leak) which comes from one of the employees in the show. The employee mentioned that there will be an LGBT story in the show besides some nudity and sex scenes. There are even articles about "transgender realities in the Lord of the Rings" that have been written by the show supporters:- https://youtu.be/IHViW_c6WDY?t=560 https://youtu.be/2EuzthEzPbs?t=39 Streaming services have accelerated during COVID-19. Every service (Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney+,...etc) wants to dominate the market, in order to do that, they went into a buying frenzy to get licenses as many as they could, their plan is: don't waste time on story adaption, directing, or acting performance, just film it, then broadcast it, and if the consumers hate it (most likely) then shelve it and looks for another franchise to destroy. They already did this with "Wheel of time", "Batgirl", "The Shannara Chronicles", "Resident Evil", "She-Hulk", "Thor" ... etc It is up to us, we real fans, to boycott their products until they respect us. Even if the Elves become rappers and the Dwarves play rock 'n' roll, Amazon Prime doesn't care. The goal of most streaming services is to rob viewers' pockets. Since they created their own version of Galadriel, Elrond, Tar-Míriel, Wizards/Maiar, Hobbits (I meant Harfoots), Dwarves, Elves, and the whole mythology and lore of Tolkien, why didn't they create their own version of Balrog? If Amazon wanted to know what the viewers think, then why didn't it check the like and dislike count ratio in each trailer and teaser it released on Youtube? It's too late, it will be hard for the production team to find woodlands and grasslands that can be used as shooting locations like the ones in Australia and NZ. The UK and Europe are experiencing the deadliest heatwaves and the worst drought ever occurred in the last decade. Is Peter Jackson a racist, there is no diversity in his adaptation films, do you consider a director (e.g Ralph Bakshi, Arthur Rankin Jr., and Jules Bass) who adopted Tolkien's work but didn't "woke" it, as a racist person?
..who had zero awareness of the real world...
We are not talking about the real world, LOTR is a fictional world based on European cultures. In other words, It is a white man culture, and everybody loves it except the SJW psychopaths.
..the story of Ar-Pharazon and Tar-Miriel would be far creepier if the cousins looked like brother and sister..
I don't understand. Why cousins shouldn't look like cousins.
..if they hire the best actors for the roles then fine..
I don't know about the cast (although the actors and actresses don't seem suitable for the rules) but certainly, the showrunners are the worst. The only experience that J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay had are being uncredited writers in a bad "Star Trek" movie. They don't have a single photo, bio, or trivia on their personal pages on IMDB, they don't even have a Wiki page. Also in the 80s:- - The friendship between black and white kids wasn't that deep. - Homosexual people could not explicitly express their sexual orientation. - A middle-class family couldn't afford to buy a PC. - The Soviet Union couldn't risk a global war, which could happen if they secretly send troops to an American town (back then, USA and USSR avoided any direct conflict, and waged proxy wars instead). Even if it sent spies, why do they have to wear military uniforms? - Besides the previous points, I don't need to mention the inaccurate depiction of 80's garments, haircuts, bicycles...etc ST can be described as anything except "resembling 80s". There is an episode of the famous animated series "Teen Titans Go!", titled "Nostalgia is Not a Substitute for an Actual Story". In my opinion, this title itself tells what ST is all about.
"What would you like to see in Season 5?"
Nothing, S4 will be the last season for me. I thought this one will be better than previous seasons but it turns out that the show, with every episode it produces, becomes more ugly. No wonder Netflix loses subscribers. You misunderstood me guys, I didn't say the scenario of the show was intentionally against Russia. I meant, it is a funny thing to see a show that depicts battles with the Russians while there are actual battles occurring at the current time. I know the cold war is a part of the 80s. And I know the government of the Soviet Union did terrible crimes either against its people or against other nations. Even the prison camps were much worse than the ones portrayed in the show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_war_crimes In general, I don't like historical drama, but I adore HBO (Chernobyl) miniseries which expose the incompetence and stupidity of the Soviet regime. Maybe the correct phrase is "expose Russians". I laughed like crazy when Nerdrotic commented about the character Celebrimbor (and the way the show portrays him) that he looks like a lesbian school mom... BTW, he published a new video regarding the latest trailer released by Amazon Prime:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EuzthEzPbs I love the real fans who defend authenticity (in adaptation) like Nerdrotic, Actual Justice Warrior, Disparu, and George the Giant Slayer against the vandalization of Amazon Prime. And this is my favorite vid. :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxHjg8pJUwY According to this article, Aveline commits suicide under the pressure : https://otakukart.com/the-limehouse-golem-ending-explained/ I thought the original novel may have answers, I did some research but it looks like Aveline is a non-canonical character. My interpretation is, that Aveline becomes jealous of Elizabeth's success and holds a grudge against her after John Cree, who Aveline herself is interested in, marries Elizabeth. After the trial of Elizabeth, Aveline returns to square one, She finds herself as a not famous actress and feels alone without her beloved John (who she knows is an innocent). Even after the execution, Aveline still sees Elizabeth as a winner, and on top of it, she has to play the rule of her foe in "Misery Junction" play (the play will grant Elizabeth more popularity). Under pressure, Aveline decides to take her own life but in a dramatic way, she thinks hanging herself, in the same way as Elizabeth's execution, may grant her popularity too, which it does not happen. A note about the hanging scene, it should take at least 4 minutes for death to occur, which means, they shall be able to save Aveline. Actually, she does it and escapes. It is all in an alternate scene, you can see it here:- https://moviechat.org/tt5774060/Underwater/6272c5097e5370402b82d686/SpoilerWhy-did-they-film-two-ending-scenes-happy-and-tragedic-ones
The thing you should be moaning about is how she didn't even try to fix one of them for an engineer she gave up way to easily she could of switched out parts from other ones that was not functioning
Well, if you are still here after 2 years then you should know that she fixes it, but in an alternate scene, I just post a thread about it:- https://moviechat.org/tt5774060/Underwater/6272c5097e5370402b82d686/SpoilerWhy-did-they-film-two-ending-scenes-happy-and-tragedic-ones Gangs of Capcom old school, I appreciate your reply too.
